Alberta Health Services (AHS) is driven to build our nurse locum program to enhance patient care and address key operational challenges. The program aims to reduce reliance on overtime and agency nurses, which have contributed to significant unbudgeted expenses.   The North Zone nurse locum program has successfully provided essential nursing coverage in remote and rural communities and minimized the use of overtime and agency staffing. Our locum program aims to: · Offer unique travel and work opportunities for nurses. · Reduce service disruptions, ensuring consistent, high-quality care in hard-to-recruit areas and rural communities. · Support collaborative efforts with UNA. This initiative is a shared interest and will be further explored during ongoing collective bargaining mediation. Visit our posting for more details and to apply: https://lnkd.in/e3JiHiQt   We’re proud to be developing a robust locum program to reduce dependency on overtime and agency nursing and improve frontline capacity. Stay tuned for further updates as AHS continues to build on our locum program!
