I help nonprofits, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and communities thrive by improving operationally, planning strategically, and thinking inclusively. #bizops #economicdevelopment #inclusion #nonprofit #smallbiz
From a consulting standpoint, strategic planning is one of my favorite types of projects to facilitate. Thinking about what could be in an aspirational sense, infusing enough reality to keep it appropriately grounded, and centering it on a clearly articulated, consensus-driven mission and vision—well, it doesn’t get much better than that. Doing it with people you genuinely enjoy spending time with makes an enjoyable process even better. How can Lisle Consulting Group help your business or organization build a quality plan that promotes growth and prioritizes your mission? Connect with us here on LinkedIn or visit us at www.lisleconsulting.com to learn more.
We were fortunate to spend quality time this afternoon with faculty and staff at the College of Charleston School of Health Sciences as we continue to create a strategic plan with them. We’ve been able to reach consensus on their mission and vision, and have completed a thorough internal and external environmental analysis. It has been rewarding to see how this team has engaged with the planning process and invested their time and expertise to build the foundation for a quality strategic plan that will do more than sit on a shelf. #strategicplanning #highereducation #healthsciences #strategicdoing

Talent, Leadership: University of California, San Francisco has hired UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz veteran Kira Stoll as chief sustainability officer (CSO) and executive director of the Office of Sustainability at UCSF. Four things to know: 1. The University of California (UC) San Francisco, founded as Toland Medical College in 1864, focuses on health science and life science. The university serves roughly 6,000 students, residents and post doctorate professionals. 2. The UCSF #sustainability strategy includes sustainable procurement guidelines, #greenbuilding design, and 100% #cleanenergy goals by 2025. The university expects to achieve #carbonneutrality by 2025 from #Scope1 and #Scope2 through "aggressive reductions and the purchase of carbon offsets." 3. Stoll previously was chief sustainability and carbon solutions officer at the University of California, Berkeley. She joined that university in 2001, and earned multiple promotions from transportation planning to manager and director posts before becoming #CSO in 2020. 4. In a prepared statement, Erin S. Gore, senior vice chancellor of finance and administration, said: “After an extensive search, we are delighted that Kira Stoll will lead UCSF’s ongoing efforts in sustainability and help us to reduce our environmental footprint. Advancing health worldwide begins here at home to ensure we combat climate change, which is a serious public health problem.” Want more details? Is the SCOPE of public policies becoming harder to define? Is the SCALE of the problems getting bigger than a single department? Is the SPEED of change too fast for information to be assimilated? On March 14, Terry Mazany and Jennie Ward-Robinson, Ph.D. will engage in a provocative conversation about how 20th-century approaches are limited in addressing 21st-century challenges. I am honored to moderate a panel that will follow this conversation, inviting Sarah Szanton, PhD, ANP, FAAN, Carlos Teixeira, and Kathy McDonald to respond to the provocations and explore ways forward. One of the topics we will explore is how the resulting conventions about framing, making, and implementing policies are being replaced by more responsive, participatory engagement models capable of producing tailored offerings to diverse populations.
