Much of the U.S. power grid was built in the 1960s and 1970s—and is operating well past its estimated age and design limits. Because of that, it is increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and increased demand. Renewable energy supplies are increasing exponentially, driven by the #electrification of transportation, businesses, and households. While most experts predict that modernizing the grid will cost billions, or even trillions, of dollars, that cost pales in comparison to the economic, environmental, and human costs incurred if we fail to upgrade the grid. #ThisIsElectrificationIntegration #electricgrid https://lnkd.in/ejb7edBZ
