Men's odds of surviving cardiac arrest are 23% higher than women's, according to Penn Medicine. Why? Studies show that fear is the primary reason people hesitate to perform CPR on women. In fact, there are three main barriers: fear of inappropriate touching, misconceptions about women's physical strength, and poor awareness of women experiencing cardiac arrest. It's time to break these barriers. By spreading awareness and providing education, we can help others overcome any fears they may have when performing CPR on a woman. #CPR #LearnCPR #CPRAwareness #WorldPoint #WomenNeedCPRToo #CPREquality #BreakTheFearBarrier #SaveLivesEqually

A new effort to increase vision impairment testing among children is making positive strides. The "Early Detection of Vision Impairments in Childrens (EDVI) Act" would create new opportunities for states and communities to test children for vision impairments. This would also be the first program made for children's vision - there are already public health programs for oral health and hearing health. Late last year National Vision Administrators (NVA) wrote about a common condition found in children called Cortical Vision Impairment (CVI).
