In marketing, we have something called seasonal content, but should all relevant events be categorized as "seasonal content"? 🌈 As a marketer who champions inclusivity, I've grown weary of seeing Pride reduced to a marketing ploy. 🏳️🌈 This Pride Month, let's go beyond superficial gestures. Don't use this significant time if your commitment to LGBTQ+ rights isn't genuine and consistent year-round. 🌟 It's about making real changes in our companies and communities, ensuring inclusivity every day, not just in June. 🌈 Let's use this month as an opportunity for genuine advocacy and impactful actions. Happy Pride Month! As a woman, a mum, a business owner, a friend and a daughter I have so many reasons why I love that Pride 🏳️🌈 exists! No one should have to feel brave about discussing their sexuality. Inclusivity has a heck of a long way to go but I love that we are starting to focus on acceptance and pride in who we all are. 🥰 I haven't written lots of Pride posts and when I discussed whether we should with my team, we realised that for us, inclusivity is at the core of who we are and what we do every single day. 🤝 We all work flexibly for our own personal reasons. Between our team and our client base, some of us are LGBTQ+, some are disabled, some are carers, some are younger and some are older. ❌ We are 100% clear that we do not tolerate prejudice - in our team and in our client base - and I have absolutely stopped working relationships where I have seen prejudice and discrimination occurring. Pride Month has begun! 🌈 You see so many companies get the bad press for showing up & supporting during this month, which seems slightly unfair. Inspiration for the week: Corporate support has played a crucial role in the progress of LGBTQ+ rights over the past two decades. While some have begun to incorporate Pride Month in their companies, many do not, and some members of the LGBTQ+ community still struggle with feeling accepted in their place of work. Leaders must do more than make a post supporting it on social media. We must address the underlying issues, such as fear and bullying, lack of social acceptance, and a need for visible allyship and DEI&B policies. People spend the majority of their time working. Equality matters not only in our personal lives, but also professionally. Leaders align or alienate by stances taken or ignored. Be a source of light, and a vessel for change by making a concerted effort to create safe work spaces for all. #PrideMonth 🌈

A: "It is important because even though we are in a professional setting, an individual’s identity and the characteristics that make them unique are important to support/celebrate. A: "When I accepted who I was there was a huge realization where I knew I wanted my work life to reflect that. I started as a speech-language pathologist where my goal was to help all people gain the skills to communicate their needs and wants. Whereas now my goal is to help other healthcare providers navigate running a successful business so they can give back to others." As a retail professional and an out and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I've noticed a surprising lack of Pride displays and merchandise at several stores this year. While doing some research, I came across an article from Bloomberg with some interesting statistics... - Worldwide LGBTQ Buying Power - $3.9 Trillion - Americans are 2 times as likely to support pro-LGBTQ+ brands - Americans are 4.5 times as likely to work for pro-LGBTQ+ brands Despite the political backlash of the past couple years, Americans overwhelming support LGBTQ+ freedom in their purchasing power and buying decisions. Why are brands and retailers OK with missing out on such a lucrative market?

Recently, I ran into issues when trying to target the LGBTQ+ community due to discrimination policies. This not only limits their access to relevant content but also prevents them from connecting based on shared interests. Isn't this leaving them out instead of protecting them? Similarly, I faced ad rejection when trying to promote fitness, showing a healthy, fit body without offending any different body type. Why is promoting physical health suddenly controversial? As marketers and creators, our aim is to connect deeply and innovate. But sometimes, the rules of political correctness feel more like censorship. Creativity and respect can exist together!
