Hello there, internet people! Yes, it took some time, but I've finally managed to upload everything related to my Ubisoft Next challenge projects to my website. This includes my award-winning game design project, and my level design project that snagged 3rd place! You can find all the essential details about these projects, along with the files used for each, on the projects page of my website. But, for those of you who are curious about every single detail of my development process (no questions asked!), there are two new posts in the blog section where I delve deeper into the development process of each project. So, check it out! I hope you enjoy exploring these projects as much as I enjoyed working on them! As always, if you have any feedback or stumble upon any bugs, just let me know! #Ubisoft #UbisoftNext #GameDesign #LevelDesign #GameDevelopment https://lnkd.in/gEMmFXBJ

I'm excited to share my recent experience participating in the Otome Game Jam, an event with over 100 entries and nearly 1,000 participants, which took place over the course of two months. This took me slightly out of my usual gaming interests and pushed me to explore new horizons. Despite facing numerous challenges, such as managing a team with multiple members not contributing and navigating a chaotic start, I persevered. Initially, I intended to focus solely on programming. My goal was to create a fully functional visual novel engine in Unity, rather than taking a simpler route with tools like Ren'Py. However, the project's demands required me to step into multiple roles. I found myself directing voice actors for the first time, contributing to the game's story, and leading the remaining team members to ensure better coordination. This game jam was an invaluable opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone, delve into various aspects of game development, and acquire new skills. It was a comprehensive learning experience, enhancing my ability to develop a visual novel using Unity. I invite you to check out our game: https://lnkd.in/e_mW2XCz #GameDevelopment #OtomeGameJam #Unity3D #VisualNovel #IndieGameDev #GameJam #TeamLeadership #VoiceActing #StoryWriting #ProfessionalGrowth #GamingIndustry #CreativeDevelopment

Hi everyone, How's it going, how are you, are you okay? I'm aware that I have not really spent a lot of time actually promoting the super folks I head up business development for at Onyx Studio, us here - https://lnkd.in/dgv59wnJ, Method & Madness and Onyx Academy, rather my focus recently has been helping as many folks as I can, who are going through it right now, which obviously I'll still continue to do, going forward. So (briefly) here goes, the nub, if you like - Onyx Studio are mostly co-developing well known AAA games, for really well known, household name developers, we have a number of projects we can talk about and an equal number of projects we can't talk about (NDA's etc...)! But with that in mind, we have the resources available to help plug in with your current project or one you're planning and are considering a partner that can help make something a bit special with you. We're here, look no further! :) If you're interested in learning more, and can perhaps share a little about your project(s), please send me a note, chris@onyx.studio is me, and I can send you info on what we're doing and for whom and I'll include our deck and info on the cinematics work we do, and you'll be blown away, I promise you. Also, I'm now doing some planning/giving some thought to Develop:Brighton, are you going, wanna meet up, do you have the MeetToMatch yet, are you going to the Develop:Brighton awards, I don't know if there's a GamesIndustry.Biz party, bearing in mind they just got bought by IGN Entertainment from ReedPop/Gamer Network, if there is, I hope to see you there too? And finally, one of my last posts was based on the power of our network and how people see our posts, and how important reposting is, if you're able and inclined, it would help me immensely if you could share this post, so I can get in front of as many folks as I can and I thank you in advance. Have a great today and thanks for all your interaction, I look forward to hearing from you. #developbrighton #gamesindustry #gamedevelopment #events

I'm thrilled to share a sneak peek into my second-year Game Development journey, where I took a deep dive into the fascinating world of Visual Effects. 🔥 In my latest module, I had the incredible opportunity to create four dynamic and eye-catching effects, which I brought to life using my own textures, meshes, and systems: 1️⃣ Electrical Beam ⚡️: Unleashing the power of electricity with a stunning and vibrant beam. 2️⃣ Electric Shield 🛡️: Crafting a protective shield of crackling energy, providing both a visual spectacle and a strategic gameplay element. 3️⃣ Exploding Fireball 💥: Introducing a fiery explosion effect that's just visually spectacular. 4️⃣ Ring of Fire 🔗: Mastering the art of VFX with a captivating ring of fire, adding an immersive and intense atmosphere to the game. 📽️ Want to see these effects in action? Check out my YouTube video showcasing the magic: https://lnkd.in/eyNkdHKP This journey has been nothing short of incredible, allowing me to master some of the technical aspects of VFX and infuse my creativity into every pixel. 💫 A big shout out to my amazing mentors, classmates, and the Game Development community for their unwavering support and inspiration. 🎮✨ #GameDevelopment #VFX #FromScratch #GamingMagic #PassionProject #LinkedinJourney 🌐

In the world of game development, iteration is inevitable. From conception to launch, each phase presents opportunities to refine and enhance a game’s design – but excessive iteration risks lowering team morale, endless delays, and even game cancellations. At 1518 Studios, we understand this well, and have drawn on the experience of our Global Art Director Arturo Pulecio to compile some best practices for normalizing changes throughout a game’s development in our latest blog: 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. Finally getting back into working some on my FPS concept demo after some long down time. Some inspirations include, Half-Life 2, Prey, and Dusk! With slight hints of an immersive sim including a focus on interactive puzzles, interesting narrative (lore tabs players can find and read also!), and engaging gameplay. I aim to have this demo built to represent a strong portfolio piece showcasing my skills as a designer. #gamedesign #junior #leveldesign #fps #unrealengine
