The cooperation between Figure AI and Open AI starts to show...see the video below released recently...another example of how the field of AI-Robotics is evolving and we will see much more in the coming years https://lnkd.in/eVwV8f69 Also, I came across the ARK annual research report that gives from my point of view a good summary of emerging technologies such as AI, Robotics, etc. Even if you don’t believe all the numbers mentioned in the report (AI+Robotics a $24 trillion revenue market opportunity), I think it is a good educational read (likely you will not understand all technology terms used in the report, so you can search and learn) and gives interesting predictions for 2030/2040 https://lnkd.in/e43Y9QYY

I receive a daily newsletter from The Neuron - AI News. Recently, they posted this, and it is really eye-opening to the potential future of AI: While humanoid robots aren’t exactly priority #1 for most knowledge workers (hint: you), they’ll be massively important in physically demanding environments like warehouses, construction sites, and distribution centers. And AI will play a big role. The reason why: most OG robots follow a predefined set of commands. AI essentially gives physical robots a “brain” for learning and making decisions in real-time, without human intervention. Take Figure’s bad boys, now running on GPT-4. These robots can “see” their surroundings, engage in conversations, and take appropriate actions. This demo will either a) make you beam with joy b) make you fear The Terminator is coming… https://lnkd.in/gZHYa2-6

Figure's recent partnership with OpenAI marks a transformative moment in robotics and AI. Through this alliance, Figure 01 is equipped to engage in full conversations, leveraging OpenAI's high-level visual and language intelligence. Meanwhile, Figure's neural networks ensure rapid and sophisticated dexterous robot actions. This is truly a stride toward the future of intelligent automation. Now, from a corporate angle, an obedient 24-hour intern is surely ready to take on the daily task that are repetitive and may involve custom instructions as well!

While all the recent generative AI for media creation is impressive, seeing that innovation applied back into the real world is mindblowing when it works. Check out this example for the state-of-the-art (this week, anyway)! "With OpenAI, the Figure 01 robot can now have full conversations with people. •OpenAI models provide high-level visual and language intelligence. •Figure neural networks deliver fast, low-level, dexterous robot actions. Everything in this video is a neural network." Figure 01 has onboard cameras that feed the VLM data, which helps it "understand" the scene in front of it, allowing the robot to interact smoothly with the human in front of it. There is no teleoperation. This was filmed at 1.0x speed and shot continuously. Figure 01 is the brainchild of several key players from Boston Dynamics, Tesla, Google Deep Mind, and Archer Aviation. Figure aims to train a world model to operate humanoid robots at the billion-unit level. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 #genai #openai #generativeai #innovation #robots #chatgpt

Imagine robots that can not only perform complex physical tasks but also engage in intelligent conversations - a capability made real by Figure 01's integration of OpenAI's language models. With high-level visual and language intelligence delivered through neural networks, their robots demonstrate fluid movements and natural dialogue, all driven by AI. As we step into an era where AI and robotics converge, the possibilities are both inspiring and unsettling. Its a bit hard to image that within a few years, even a lot of manual labor jobs will be assisted/replaces by AI /incorporated apps (AI Apps, i.e. robots). Exiting times ahead for sure! Yet, it also raises concerns about AI's impact on various job sectors, and the secondary effects it will have on so many other areas. What most excites or concerns you about the potential of these rapidly advancing, AI-powered robotics capabilities? #ai #robotics #futureofwork https://lnkd.in/dsHtmFYq?

Day 7 of 32 Learning Utsav Today, I ventured into the fascinating world of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), a powerful tool for image processing and computer vision tasks. Here’s what I learned: Basics of CNNs: These networks are designed to automatically learn spatial hierarchies of features from images, making them ideal for tasks like image classification and object detection. Key Components: Convolutional Layers: Detect features in images through convolution operations. Activation Functions: Functions like ReLU help introduce non-linearity. Pooling Layers: Reduce dimensionality while retaining important information. Fully Connected Layers: Interpret the features learned to produce final outputs. Applications: CNNs are widely used in areas such as facial recognition, medical image analysis, and autonomous vehicles. I'm excited to implement a simple CNN using TensorFlow/Keras to classify images from the CIFAR-10 dataset! #LearningUtsav #FestivalOfLearning #LUD7 check outt!! https://lnkd.in/dYY6rnbv
