AI Act finally approved by the Council! Today the Council approved a ground-breaking law aiming to harmonise rules on artificial intelligence, the so-called #AIAct. After being signed by the presidents of the European Parliament and of the Council, the AI Act will be published in the EU’s Official Journal in the coming days and enter into force twenty days after this publication. Most obligations under the AI Act will apply two years after its entry into force. However, the provisions on prohibited AI practices will enter into force after 6 months, and some regulations will apply after 12 months, including regulations on #highrisk AI systems and #GPAI. #AI #artificialintelligence
