MannKind announced today that it will proceed with a first-in-human Phase 1 study of nintedanib DPI (MNKD-201) for pulmonary fibrotic diseases – including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). According to @PulmonaryFibrosisFoundation, there are more than 250,000 Americans living with pulmonary fibrosis (PF) today with 50,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Sadly, as many as 40,000 Americans die from IPF each year. Clinical significance anti-Ro60/SSA and anti-Ro52/TRIM21 autoantibodies in SLE (Australian cohort, n = 409 patients): 🔹Anti-Ro positivity is common (47.2%) and is associated with higher disease activity, as well as with higher frequency of specific target organ associations such as cutaneous and haematological disease. These patients also have a high frequency of proteinuria. 🔹Anti-Ro positive patients are more likely to receive glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants. 🔹Anti-Ro positive SLE patients may fulfil Sjögren’s criteria and experienced many extra-glandular features. 🔗https://lnkd.in/dABGyyRY
