An interior designer will guide you from the very beginning, showing you what’s possible and how to achieve the dream look you’ve envisioned for your space. The Onboarding Process for Interior Design Projects I believe that understanding the client's goals and requirements is more important before starting the project. Some key points that need to be addressed are: 1. Client Consultation: The major step should be to understand what the client is looking for, for example, whether it is a renovation, new space, start-from-scratch, or refurbishment. 2. Space Assessment: Evaluating a space considers aspects like what is the current condition of the project and what is the overall situation. This can impact our scheduling choices. Help us carry out tasks seamlessly. 3. Budget and Timeline: Discuss with the client the budget for the project and the estimated timeline to make sure we can do the job successfully and are on the same page. 4. Design Preferences: Get to know the needs of the client for the design by showing them some of the available options or by visualizing them. 5. Site Visit and Design in 3D: Visit the location for measurements, followed by the 3D designs of the same. This will give an idea of the space's potential and how the project will look after completion of the project. After completing the site visit and perfecting the 3D designs, the project is ready for execution. #interiordesign #onboardingprocess #clientsuccess #designprocess #projectmanagement #interiordesigners #interiors #designs #interiordesigner #architect #architecture #founder

A good friend of mine is adding an addition to their house and asked me to review their architect's plans. When I reviewed the plans, I quickly found several areas for improvement. While the architect did a fine job, I find that architects often focus on the exterior and its interaction with the environment. In comparison, interior designers prioritize how people move through and use the space. It's surprising how often I see plans that don't account for essential details, like having a clear spot for a bed in a bedroom. And don’t get me started on bathroom lights and exhaust fans being on the same switch—that's a personal pet peeve! The construction process can be long, overwhelming, and complicated for those unfamiliar with it. That's why I always recommend hiring an interior designer as soon as, or even before, you hire an architect. We can ensure your vision is achieved from the start while often preventing costly mistakes down the road. #HomeDesign #InteriorDesign #ArchitecturalPlans #HomeRenovation #DesignTips #ConstructionAdvice #InteriorVsExterior #SpacePlanning #DesignCollaboration #AvoidMistakes #HomeAddition #DesignFromStart #DesignerAdvice #HomeImprovement #BuildingTips

How soon do you engage an Interior Architect or Interior Designer on a project, commercial or private? Check out the video below by our MD Audrey Gaffney, for a brief explanation of when to engage. Before planning is submitted: 🎉Ensuring you are optimising the space available, 🎉Accounting for operational needs, 🎉Working out the guest/customer/patient journey. 🎉Adding value if the property is to be sold once planning is granted. After planning is granted: 🎉There can be restrictions, issues and a resubmission on planning if the interior layout gets changed after planning is granted. This should be discussed with your planning agent. 🎉The layout granted may cause issues with external window locations, heights, and widths when trying to maximum the internal space. 🎉External doors and corridors may not allow for the correct flow required for the best guest experience. 🎉Reworking the layout again can (and more likely) involve the full design team AGAIN. Adding to costs. What to know more or like additional information? Call us on 046-9064190 or email info@tailorandwolf.com We can send you additional information depending on your sector. FAQ Friday "I'm confused with what interior designers do." <-- Not a question exactly, but here I am to clarify! We don't just make things pretty. HGTV has discounted our profession for years by trying to cram what they can into a 30-minute show. That leads to you only seeing the pretty reveal and poorly staged drama at site visits. WHAT WE DO: We create full interior ARCHITECTURAL drawings, with detail of everything inside right down to the square inch, so the space can be built safely and correctly. We also coordinate permits and any engineering details that are needed for the project. Tell me if you knew that! If not, what other questions do you have? #interiordesigner #retaildesigner #restaurantdesigner #officedesigner #commercialdesigner #workplacedesigner #corporatedesigner #residentialdesigner #guelphbusiness #interiordesignguelph #interiordesignkw #interiordesigntoronto #interiordesigngta #interiordesignhamilton #interiordesignoakville #interiordesignburlington #residentialdesigner #renovation #homereno #reno #homerenovation

🏛️✨ Architect vs. Interior Designer: Know the Difference!✨🏛️ When embarking on a construction or renovation project, understanding the roles of an architect and an interior designer is crucial for success! Here’s a quick breakdown: Architects: 🔹 Focus on the structure and building’s overall design. 🔹 Handle zoning, permits, and structural integrity. 🔹 Create blueprints and oversee the construction process. Interior Designers: 🔸 Transform spaces with color, furnishings, and decor. 🔸 Optimize functionality and aesthetics within the space. 🔸 Ensure a cohesive design that reflects your vision. Why You Need Both: 1. Holistic Vision: Architects provide the framework while interior designers create the atmosphere. 2. Seamless Collaboration: Both professionals work together to ensure design integrity and functionality. 3. Enhanced Value: A well-coordinated project maximizes both structural appeal and interior comfort. Combining their expertise leads to a beautifully designed, functional space that stands the test of time! 🏡💖 #ReyaDuenasDesign #CommercialDesign #DesignCollaboration #SuccessfulProjects

(Day 200) How can finding common ground helps you harmonize conflicting design styles and preferences as a commercial interior designer? By finding common ground you are actively listening to all parties. When you find common ground with others, it starts to build trust as you listen to their needs, and they yours. Common ground can be a specific color palette, a particular finish, or the overall feel of the space. By identifying shared preferences, you can start to narrow down on choices all parties agree on. This will ensure all parties are happy and satisfied with the design process. We're dropping some truth... You can choose your interior design team! Traditionally, when you hire an architect you automatically get their interior designer(s). Usually there is no discussion about it—just sort of a package deal. You may assume that if you’ve chosen the most capable architect you are also getting the most capable interior designer. That may not always be the case. Ask for Blackbird Design Resources. We can deliver what you need, with you in mind, and do it happily with your architect. “The Power of Space Planning: Why Interior Designers Are Essential” Architects design the structure, but it’s “interior designers” who bring life to the space by balancing “functionality and aesthetics”. Unfortunately, many clients unknowingly leave this responsibility to architects, assuming that design is a one-size-fits-all job. “This is an unfair trade-off”, as it undervalues the specialized expertise interior designers bring to the table. When building or renovating your dream space, ensure both your “architect” and “interior designer” are working hand in hand to create a home that is not only structurally sound but truly livable and tailored to your vision. At “Danish Design Art”, we take pride in crafting spaces where form meets function, and every detail reflects who you are. Trust in the expertise of interior designers to make your space exceptional! Interior designers: ✅ Maximize space efficiency ✅ Enhance functionality with creativity ✅ Oversee design execution from start to finish #InteriorDesign #SpacePlanning #HomeDesign #Architecture #DesignExecution #DanishDesignArt #FunctionalityMatters

As an interior designer, I’ve always believed that honesty and authenticity are the foundation of our craft. In the interior design industry, integrity should always come first. A genuine designer’s opinions should be based on experience and a deep understanding of the client’s needs—not influenced by commissions from brands or products. A genuine designer’s advice should come from a place of trust and a commitment to creating spaces that truly resonate with the client—not from financial incentives tied to promotions. Let’s work together to create a design industry that values transparency, creativity, and the true essence of design. I’d love to hear your thoughts! #architecture #art #building #construction #engineering #design #designer #architect #artist #sanjaypuriarchitects #parametricarchitect #interiordesign
