Actually, I'd say crypto is _no longer_ retail investing, but institutional investing. _That_ is a threat to us all. Ideally bitcoin would have continued being an investment vehicle for retail only. Then common people would have had the upper hand, for once. This is not going to be the case now. Those that own us today will own us going forward. And even more as bitcoin does not have a built in redistribution mechanism. Say what you will about FIAT, but at least it is possible to reset the game with FIAT. With bitcoin, those who own it will continue owning it. Forever. In my view that is a flaw. For more on the topic study Dan Larimers post EOS work, it centers around possible redistribution mechanisms in cryptocurrencies. How to redistribute wealth in a more productive way between generations. And more. Interesting ideas. Bitcoin was design as a peer-to-peer payment infra, It wasn't meant to be a store of value, and as such is has both flaws and benefits. It could definitely be improved upon. There is something top ponder for someone more clever than me. Time to continue where the cyberpunks left off. Because bitcoin is going to let us down, I can guarantee it.

Given the recent developments in US politics it seems like we're in the late stage of the quote above. Yet there are still media outlets trying to lead the masses away from Bitcoin and crypto - because they want to 'protect' you, as they always want... Of course the article states the long-overdue arguments like: - "Bitcoin has no intrinsic value." - "Bitcoin is the tech reinvention of the Ponzi scheme." Seriously is there still anyone out there believing this? Apart from showing how scared they are, this is a strong argument to cancel the noise and step away from all (mass) media outlets. They're nowhere near trying to educate the reader, their only goal is to generate fear and uncertainty among them. Otherwise, they'd not be writing such an article, but talk about how doomed our current monetary system with fractional reserve banking is. In case you're still having a hard time understanding Bitcoin, which can be quiet overwhelming in the beginning, take your time to study the fundamentals - it'll be worth it.
