"The best candidates don't take 3+ months to land a new role" - this was a post I read on here over the weekend. Here's a reminder of how crazy the last 4 years have been: ✅ We had the Covid-19 pandemic. ✅ There were near-WW III events. ✅ Over 500,000 people have been laid off in the tech space since 2022. On the other side of things, maybe you: 1️⃣ Are a new/single parent, and needed some time with your kid(s). 2️⃣ Got sick/needed to care for someone who is/was sick. 3️⃣ Wanted to travel. 4️⃣ Wanted a break after what has been a hectic 4-5 year period. Taking time off between roles does not affect your capacity to do your job. #hiring #jobsearching #opentowork
Similar to, well this would be there 3rd move in the last 4yrs... 🙄
The “best candidates” have 20+ years experience, 3 PhDs, a ridiculous number of certifications, and are workaholics.

6mo"The best candidates don't take 3+ months to land a new role"???? That is probably one of the most smug, conceited and ill-thought comment I have seen in a long time. Maybe a long time back that person could have said "The best candidates don't get layed-off", but even the dullest pundit has only to take a look at sources like LinkedIn to realize that is NOT true. I have seen good people out of work for a year, especially after COVID and all the layoffs that have occurred. Possibly some of the "best" candidates have been able to land another job (and the emphasis is on "some"), but have you seen the drop in salaries that have occurred in the last 6-12 months? So whoever said "the best" don't stay out for 3+ months, let me remind you that for every 1 "best" employee that gets rehired in less than 3 months, there are literally thousands who are very good, very capable people who have struggled, through no fault of their own, in trying to get back to work in a very rough job market. 😡
