I often get questions about distance and pace for our group runs, and I totally understand the curiosity. The truth is, we've got a variety of paces and distances, and with our limited 605 Running Company staff, we aim to make it a fantastic, yet personalized experience for everyone. We kick off and wrap up at the same spot, taking full advantage of the bike trail. It's an out-and-back route, so you get to choose your own pace and distance. When I'm hosting a group run, I'm there from the start, looking after your belongings, and cheering you on at the finish line. For me, the group run is all about service - serving our awesome runners! I'm here to greet you, introduce you to fellow runners, share some laughs, provide information, whip up some coffee, and ensure you're fueled with snacks. It brings me immense joy to get to know you and support you during your run. While I can't run the miles for you, I can create an environment that celebrates your dedication to running in our community. The magic happens when more people join in! Bring a friend, make a friend, or invite a friend. The key is to carve out time for the group run. If you're concerned about pace, trust me, there are likely others with the same thoughts. Take a leap, join the group run, and spread the word. I'm confident you'll forge new connections, and soon, distance and pace won't be sources of fear or anxiety anymore. Let's make each run a celebration! #Run605 #GroupRunJoy #RunningCommunityLove

Tonight’s run clocked in over 6 miles. We’re tracking for something around 120 this month. Last month, I pushed hard to prove a point about breaking through mental and physical limitations, especially during the final run. This month, we’re aiming to finish around 135 to 140 miles. I’ve also made some great headway on a long-term project. It’s all becoming clear, once again showing the deep connection between running, focus, and mental clarity. #MindOverMiles #PushYourLimits #EnduranceRun #RunningFocus #BreakBarriers #MentalClarity #RunnersCommunity #KeepGoing #Life #ClarityThroughRunning #LongTermGoals #MentalStrength #120MilesStrong #RunningJourney #RunForIt #MindMatters #StayFocused #Running #Runners #DJShon #BluntStayBlazed #Blunts #Blaze

Last weekend, I officially became a first-time half-marathon runner. After months of preparation, it was time to try and make it to the finish line. Running through the streets of Cologne, the place I have called home for the past six years, was a unique experience that deepened my connection to the city and its people. Here are my top 5 personal takeaways from this experience: 1️⃣ Mental & physical resilience – Moments of self-doubt, routine and fatigue are part of the journey. Remember that overcoming these mental barriers is just as hard as physical training. 2️⃣ Pace yourself – I started the half-marathon too fast and felt burnt out reaching my 15th kilometer. Advanced runners shared this learning with me before. However, it’s easier said than done when runners overtake you and your competitive side takes control. 3️⃣ Progress is key – Setbacks are part of the process. Despite bad training days and injuries, persistence leads to achieving long-term goals. 4️⃣ Experiment – Allow yourself to test what works best for you. Whether it's running with or without music, time vs. distance-based running, different fuels (gels vs. snacks), etc. Regardless of other peoples’ experiences, conduct your tests and draw your personal conclusions. 5️⃣ Enjoy the journey – Training and preparation for a half-marathon require adjusting your lifestyle and pushing your limits. As a night owl, I always preferred to run at the end of the day. However, as the half-marathon took place during the morning hours, I had to transition to become an early bird. This and other small examples were as transformative as the event itself. LMK in case I can also be of support in completing your first half-marathon. Last but not least, big thanks to many of you here for your friendly advice and unwavering support. I've been reflecting on my running journey and wanted to share something heartfelt. Many of us use running to solve our problems, but does it really work? In my experience, focusing on being present during a run teaches us to tame our wandering minds. Running becomes a space for self-discovery and reconnecting with who we want to be. Consider your run sacred time for presence. Let other worries wait. Trust the process; it works. Embrace each step and breath, and you'll find not just improved running, but greater well-being and clarity. Stay consistent, committed, and above all, present. This is the 'Running Free Method' at its core! DM me to discuss!
