Did you know that #AdditiveManufacturing Machine Operators and Technicians are quickly becoming the new skilled trades in advanced manufacturing? Yet, the #3Dprinting industry is facing a real shortage of these professionals. After speaking with countless machine operators, technicians, and employers in the AM industry over the past year, we’ve uncovered a common issue: companies are struggling to keep skilled talent. Why? Two main reasons keep popping up: 1️⃣ Better pay in other industries 2️⃣ More opportunities for career growth elsewhere Now, more than ever, it’s vital for employers to think about how they can retain their Operators and Technicians. These roles are absolutely crucial for the daily operations of OEMs, service bureaus, and contract manufacturers. To help, we’ve put together a short guide that shines a light on career pathways for Machine Operators and AM Technicians who might be feeling stuck. It’s also for employers who are finding it tough to hire and keep these essential team members. We’d love to hear what you think about this. When it comes to manufacturing and production, more important than the materials are the people who work with them. Production slows when materials are limited, but a limited workforce can halt production. Maybe you're company is in a situation where you have a very experienced CNC programmer or technician. Someone who is one of, if not the only person in the production chain who understands how to work with your equipment. • What happens when they are not or cannot be present? • What happens if they decide to leave? • What happens if....? Support roles are not redundancies, they are operational insurance and productivity peace-of-mind. If your business is reliant on one person to keep it running smoothly, then you are one person away from shutting down. You need to hire quality candidates who can either plug and play or if you have the time and resources, ones who can learn how you and your business operate. With Trotter Workforce you get quality candidates, flexible hiring options, and a dedicated recruitment team with a personal account manager and at least dedicated two recruiters. Get in touch with us today so you can keep producing tomorrow. www.TrotterWorkforce.com 888-726-6586 https://lnkd.in/erVgVKC4 #TrotterWorkforce #Manufacturing #Jobs #ManufacturingJobs #ProductionJobs #Fabrication

Losing production time? ⏰️Wasting valuable materials?🗑 Not getting the most out of your machines? 📉 ALL of these concerns can cause a loss in production, revenue, and morale.😬 It can cost shops a lot of money to determine what isn't working and to develop a solution. For many small shops hiring a full time Process Engineer is just not feasible. That is why our OPTO Application Engineers offer daily on-site training! 👏You can consult with our team on your current pain points and discuss how we can help. 🦾 Our goal is to make sure your machine is completely optomized while training your current team on how to get the most from it. 📈 If you'd like to learn more just send me a message or email our team at robotics@phillipscorp.com today! How would you describe your job to a 5-year-old? 😅 Explaining maintenance engineering recruitment to my son is pretty tricky... I tell him that I speak to people all day - Boys and girls who fix machines. Like robots that move on their own to make things like his toy cars or sort how his clothes get delivered to home. How would you explain what you do to a 5-year-old? Let’s have a giggle! Comment below 👇 #Recruitment #Parent #WorkingParent

Opened up my daily email from Charlotte Business Journal today about how Charlotte's manufacturing sector is blowing up, and can't recruit workers fast enough. I'm sure anyone who's ever been in #IndustrialStaffing would tell you, "No freakin' duh." Especially when it comes to #MaintenanceTechnicians. Back in 2014, I had 2 different job intake forms -- one for mechanical maintenance and the other for electrical. By 2020, I only had 1 form, for electromechanical maintenance technicians. 👷♂️Super Technicians👩🔧 as this article calls them. "You are doing a lot of troubleshooting with computers, and that’s a hard skill to find." This bridge of #manufacturing and #technology is Akkodis's sweet spot, and it's been really fun so far to be part of this #modernization movement! #SmartIndustry #CLTmfg https://lnkd.in/ebTx6bhN

A common theme I've heard recently in Chicago manufacturing is the difficulty of attracting hourly workers for a variety of positions i.e. mechanics, technicians, operators, etc. Much have this has likely been created by the rising compensation of non-manufacturing hourly positions leaving little incentive to work in a production/assembly/machining facility. This begs the question, how will this impact the future of not only Chicago area mfg but nationwide mfg? Can manufacturers keep up with the rise in wages or will production work have to become something more/less specialized to attract a new candidate pool? Will companies just invest in automation anywhere possible and replace these positions entirely? Only time will tell, but I'm curious what ideas companies and individuals have formulated to combat this growing concern. #manufacturing #risingcosts

It's been incredibly interesting, and by that I mean frightening, to watch the specific skill sets disappear over the last four years. First it was welders, then Machinist, Press Brake technicians, and lately Maintenance technicians. We are building a leading training and career pathway program internally, and it is laborious and challenging, but should allow us to be a wheel in the Reshoring cog. #MadeinUSA #MadeinAmerica #Metalcraftind #Bringitback #Reshoring #Manufacturing #CNCMachining #sheetmetal #Metalfabrication #metalstamping #toolanddie #automation #Industry4point0 #DIB #Defenseindustrialbase #nationaldefense #CMMC
