Today is World Environment Day 🌍 This year we have put extra effort into dedicating ourselves to sustainability and integrating eco-friendly practices into everything we do here at M&P O'Sullivan. From refining our wastage, and ensuring minimal environmental impact, to adopting renewable energy sources and promoting green initiatives within our staff, we are committed to making a difference. The European Parliament's recent decision to set ambitious CO2 reduction targets for new heavy-duty vehicles marks a major step forward for sustainable trucking in Europe. This move, supported by the logistics sector's push for clearer emission standards, is a game-changer for achieving environmental goals. "It's all about making zero-emission trucks more available and affordable, which aligns perfectly with our mission to decarbonize logistics and reap the social and environmental benefits of cleaner transport," stated Viktorija Terekė, Head of Sustainability. This announcement coincides with our campaign to simplify the complexities of sustainability in logistics. Our aim is to present clear, practical solutions—from electrification to biofuels and smarter transport modes—that can drive us towards our ambitious environmental objectives. Today, on this Green Friday, we are proud to announce the launch of Mill's very first Sustainability Report—a milestone we celebrate with a slice of sustainable cake!🍰 https://lnkd.in/dmR8_crz Did you know that Mill users collectively saved 145 GWh of electricity during the winter of 2023-2024 by leveraging the smart control of our heating products. To put that into perspective, that's enough energy to power an entire mid-sized Norwegian city for a year!⚡️🙌🏻 On top of that, we've taken significant steps to reduce our environmental footprint by cutting 50 tons of Styrofoam from our packaging in 2024 alone🌿 While we’re proud of these achievements, we know there’s much more to be done and we welcome all constructive feedback and value meaningful conversations around this🙏

♻️ Today is World Cleanup Day! During this global cleanup day, together with over 190 countries, we are giving the planet a big cleanup. Oscar Circulair, investee of DOEN Participaties B.V., is committed to keeping our planet clean not just today, but every day. They do this by collecting waste in busy cities. In busy urban areas, waste collection creates lots of heavy truck traffic. Also, businesses are not sufficiently stimulated to separate their waste. Oscar Circulair provides centralised collection in these areas, extracts high-quality raw materials from the waste in cooperation with businesses so that less residual waste remains, and ensures that far fewer polluting transport movements are needed in the area.
