A new ‘best practice’ guide for housing developers has been published, setting out East Suffolk Council’s aspirations for high quality and well delivered new housing developments. The East Suffolk Developers Charter sets out ambitions in relation to: ▪️ developers’ engagement with communities and stakeholders during the whole development process, ▪️ the design quality of schemes, both in terms of appearance, function and sustainability, and ▪️ the quality of the delivery process for supporting community wellbeing and environmental quality. The Developers Charter provides developers of major residential developments with guidance on engaging positively and meaningfully with local communities and the Council throughout the planning and construction of new homes. https://lnkd.in/e_dMMCgg

We’re continuing to build new homes in Toronto’s core. Today we announced the beginning of construction at 35 Bellevue Ave. This property, previously a City-owned parking lot, will include approximately 78 rent-geared-to-income homes. The City has selected Kensington Market Community Land Trust in partnership with St Clare’s Multifaith Housing Society as 35 Bellevue Ave.’s operators. These future homes will contribute to the creation of non-market homes, increasing affordable rental housing stock in Toronto. While providing safe, affordable, and independent living spaces, these projects also offer people homes with supports to maintain their health, wellbeing, and housing stability. The official ground-breaking ceremony for Dream's new residential development, #Odenak, took place on November 15 in LeBreton Flats, Ottawa. According to the partners involved, it will be "much more than a residential development" featuring integrated affordable housing, green building practices, and comprehensive social programming.
