New on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eHhRd6WZ Do you know this feeling on Sunday evening being almost glad that the stressful weekend is over and you can get back to the more relaxed work week? What is the difference between work and leisure? Is it the fun? Is it getting paid? And what are the implications of defining something as work or leisure? At the end of the day, we want to be happy and healthy. Thinking about work, leisure and how we allocate our time can help to reduce stress and to make us more conscious of what we want from life.

Long work & school in life balance post ahead: 🛶I just returned from an annual portage and camping trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (remote/ vast wilderness extending the U.S.-Canada border, covering approximately 1,098,000 acres). I canoed, carried a 50lb backpack for 4 portages (twice), slept on a thin sleeping pad in a tiny tent, chopped wood, made fires, got and treated water from the lake, fished, foraged, cooked, hiked, and endurad weather of 30° nights. But I also sat in silence, watched the water ripple, stared at the sky, listened to the fire crackled, saw incredible wildlife, got emotional, and lived in the moment. I slowed down my mind and daily to do list and immersed nature. The timing was difficult as: 👩💻Work is so busy; I have a big project due June 3rd (stay tuned). 👩🏫 I am focused on completing my MBA and so excited for my current Data Driven Decision Making course. [I even read a downloaded charter by the edge of the lake. So you really can do school anywhere!] This trip continues to reminds me that I have to work hard for big reward (re-read list above haha), but also to slow down and remember what truly matters in my life. 📣Communucation with your partner is key. ⏳️There's beauty in pacing yourself; Breath work is so important, too. 🧘♀️Being strong in mind and body can keep you safe and calm. As my son isn't ready to join us yet, this particular trip reminds me of the example I want to set for him and his generation: practice the life balance, find your peace, challenge yourself, and appreciate/ respect nature!

This is my husband, Todd Langley and our 13-year-old son Jonah (we call him Jojo). Yesterday they enjoyed a memorable father-son outing at the the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. When they returned home last night, they shared with me the dozens of picture and videos they took during their outing. I heard about all of the PGA professionals they saw, the ones they fist pumped, the holes they staked out, the awesome or not so awesome golf shots, how immaculate the greens at Muirfield are and of course the scores/leaderboard. June is not only Pride Month but it's also 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, dedicated to shedding light on the mental health struggles men face and encouraging open conversations. There are millions of articles written about work life balance and studies that show that establishing a healthy work-life balance is essential for preventing physical and mental health issues. Happy employees, leads to increased morale and productivity in all areas of life. To some, work-life balance means the convenience of being able to manage a personal life during the work day, without the hassle of having to get permission or explain our activities to others. Another common definition of work-life balance is “equal time or priority to personal and professional activities.” Whatever your definition of work life balance is, prioritize it and prioritize yourself. ALWAYS. Despite his demanding job, I am proud to witness Todd prioritizing time with our family. I loved witnessing him spend quality time with Jojo and sharing their passion for golf. Remember, in the midst of life's busyness, always make time to prioritize self-care and meaningful connections. #WorkLifeBalance #MentalHealthAwareness #FamilyTime #MemorialTournament #MensMentalHealthAwarenessMonth

Here are effective ways to balance work with leisure time: 1. Plan Ahead 📅:Include leisure activities in your weekly schedule in advance. This helps you adjust your work tasks around your planned outings. 2. Set Boundaries ⏰: Define clear boundaries between work hours and leisure time. Reserve evenings or weekends specifically for relaxation and activities. 3. Prioritize Tasks ✅: Complete important tasks first to ensure you can enjoy your leisure time without work-related stress. 4. Use Time Blocks 🕒: Divide your day into distinct blocks for work and leisure. This helps you maintain a balanced routine and avoid overworking. 5. Incorporate Breaks 🏞️: Take short breaks to explore nearby areas or enjoy a quick outing. This refreshes your mind and boosts productivity. 6.Combine Work and Leisure 🌳: When possible, combine work with leisure activities, such as outdoor meetings or working in a pleasant environment.

🏂 Embracing Work-Life Balance: A Day on the Slopes 🏂 Tomorrow, I'm stepping out of the office and onto the snow-covered slopes. Our family's recent move to Colorado was driven by a desire to embrace the great outdoors. With three kids under the age of 5, this isn't always a walk in the park (or a glide down the mountain!), but we're committed to making it work. What makes this possible is working for a company that truly values its employees' well-being. Here, there's a genuine understanding that we're all full human beings with passions and interests outside of work. Taking a day off for snowboarding? No judgment, no interruptions, just pure support. It's incredibly liberating to know that I can openly share this aspect of my life – even on LinkedIn – without worrying about raised eyebrows. This is a shoutout to everyone who hasn't found their perfect work-life balance yet: if your job doesn't support you in pursuing your personal passions, maybe it's time to look elsewhere. Life is incredibly short. When the fresh powder falls, you should feel free to go out and enjoy it. Don't let work constraints hold you back from living your life to the fullest. #WorkLifeBalance #LifeIsShort #PursueYourPassions

Here is the “life” factor that balance the “work” in the equation to create a fruitful and meaningful life. Nothing enhances that balance better than enjoying the nature and “Mölkky” during leisure time with friends and new connections. Fortunately, I have both to enrich my downtime 😎🍵 #Worklifebalance #Networking #Teambuilding #Mölkky

Can work and life ever be balanced? A more successful day at Traumen & Medisynq had me reflecting during a peaceful sunset. The journey from urgent work crises to prioritizing personal time hasn't been simple, but it has been profoundly rewarding. It was 2016 when I faced a defining choice: an urgent work call or a small yet important personal commitment. Choosing the personal commitment that evening reshaped my entire approach to work-life balance. I realized that integrating my personal life with my professional duties wasn't just possible—it was essential for my well-being. My day now begins with a leisurely breakfast, which provides a moment of quiet before the day ramps up. Family dinners are sacrosanct, a time to reconnect and ground myself with loved ones. Sundays are for cricket, reliving the carefree days of youth and recharging for the week ahead. Once a quarter, I take to the mountains. Trekking offers a new perspective—viewing life's challenges and achievements from a peak makes both seem small yet significant. Sharing this might seem personal, but it’s through these human experiences that we truly connect. Do you believe in work-life balance? Or is it the hustle culture for you?

Finding work-life balance can be a real challenge, but I’m fortunate to have three incredible kids who keep me grounded and remind me of what truly matters. Plus, there’s nothing like hitting a golf ball around to clear the mind and recharge the spirit. And while I’ll never admit it, I think my golf partner might just have a swing that rivals mine! Keep chasing that balance, everyone. It’s the little moments that make the biggest difference. #WorkLifeBalance #Family #Golf

In his old life, our Founder, Tom Sutton's long working week was spent chained to a desk. At weekends he found himself commuting out of town for some fresh air and headspace. Today Tom’s office is the beach (and wherever running corporate retreats take him).
