Do you enjoy riding the train? For me, there's something truly magical about the journey from the suburbs to downtown Chicago and back. Watching the serene suburban landscape slowly transform into the dynamic city skyline is a treat for the eyes. It's a reminder of the beauty of nature and the remarkable talents and hard work that go into constructing our urban environments. Taking the train is not just about reaching a destination; it's a rejuvenating experience for the mind and soul. Instead of battling traffic, you get to sit back, relax, and reflect. It's a rare opportunity to feel connected to your surroundings and let your thoughts flow freely. How about you? What's your favorite #train route, and what do you enjoy most about it? #chicagosuburbs #urbanplanning #realestatedevelopment #worklifebalance

A mix of uses in a city centre is key to #placemaking outputs and #vitality of our #businesscommunity and #residentliving. Three principle parts make up urban regen, all come from one element, ‘bums on seats’!! 1. Resident population, 2. Business community, 3. Visitors …. and yes these can be broken down into subsections but like a fire triangle of fuel, heat and oxygen, each is interdependent and has its own set of nuances! Walkability is in demand among all ages, according to the most recent survey by the National Association of Realtors. WakeUP knows that walkability (and bikeability) is not only desirable for enhancing quality of life, but also boosts the local economy, reduces our impact on the environment and climate, and improves equity outcomes. Our new blog post highlights some of the current projects and initiatives that Wake municipalities are implementing to make our communities safer, healthier, and less car-dependent: https://buff.ly/42ptTP7 You can also check out the full list of comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian plans for your area on our website: Our Work --> In Your Area --> Transportation

Part 6: Thoughts on Positivity or #POPT Today we should work on how to practice. Today is for the city folks, practice on finding a parking spot. First start by appreciating that you own a car. Then appreciate the fact you either live or are going to such a popular spot that parking demand is high. Next, visualize yourself getting that perfect parking spot. Really imagine yourself getting excited that moment you spot that it is empty. Lastly, if you park a little farther away, appreciate the fresh air, appreciate the sounds of the city, appreciate that you have a strong able body that can handle it. How much better is that story than the one that requires stress, anger and negativity. You may find that you find the better spots when you go into it with the right mindset, you may also be happy either way. Your choice. Its a journey, we are all on it.
