This week's featured childhood cancer hero is Maddie Shaw! Maddie was 8 years old when she began having unexplained pain, tingling and numbness in her left leg. An X-ray revealed cancer and Maddie began the battle of a lifetime. Maddie faced years of relapses, and finally entered high school just weeks after a brain surgery, all the while searching for her miracle cure. Maddie sadly passed away in 2019, but her family still hopes to find that cure for other kids. They participate in The Million Mile each September, taking steps toward that goal!
