While both models have a place in the current marketplace, it's important to know the difference between an online lead aggregator and a placement agent. A lead aggregator tends to be referral site or service that takes your loved one's information and fires it off to people they're contracted with in the area that might meet their needs; a placement agent or Senior Care Advisory agent takes the time to sit down with the client, assess their needs, and make recommendations on communities. While they sound pretty similar, a placement agent also coordinates, schedules, and accompanies their client on the tours of communities, helping to streamline the experience and reduce the stress families feel when trying to navigate this system. They also tend to be local, in the communities they work with on a constant basis. It's important to make sure you understand the differences when looking for help finding a place for your loved one.
