Here’s what I think: Irrespective of your chosen energy source, air lubrication should be a consideration for your vessel…. If using carbon based fuels, air lubrication systems (ALS) offer a way to improve the CII rating. If EU ETS or FuelEU Maritime will affect you, ALS offers a way to help reduce emissions. If using alternative fuels or energy sources, ALS offers a way to improve vessel efficiency, helping to mitigate the lower energy density.
