I would like to ask the parents of teen children or anyone who knows: How do you deal with all the inexact information on Google? Background information. My child and I were listening the news about poison mushrooms. I said that the word "poison" doesn't really mean anything scientifically, because by science anything in wrong quantity can be poison and deadly. My child opened Google and read somewhere "A poison is any chemical substance that is harmful or lethal to living organisms. The term is used in a wide range of scientific fields and industries, where it is often specifically defined". This is wrong, the word is used by average people to define the toxicity of a element in small amounts. I'm a book reader, this google thingy is not accurate and misleading. Any suggestions?

Recently, I had the pleasure of delivering my communication workshop to a group of high school students from boys team charity, Inc. (btc) Diablo chapter. On Friday, the Board and whole team Out There got together to reflect on our current strategy, written right at the tail end of COVID and the adapting we had to do then. It was a brilliant day of celebration, contribution & challenge!. In a very difficult environment for charities & all the political, economic & social context we were able to reflect on some of the great work done by the team, not least: - the growth of our support for children & young people, & the crucial part for us of utilising all the assets around a child to support them. -the development of our hub and that space becoming a place of work for other charities, & a space for community groups, and the conversations that encourages tackling stigma of imprisonment for family members & others in a community. -continuing & strengthening our core familial support- the quote below shows we cannot underestimate the value of being there for a family in their most difficult time, but further developing that & understanding different needs. Nothing in the charity world at the moment is guaranteed- funding etc is a continuing, and growing challenge, but it was cathartic to have such a supportive group all together, passionate & committed to helping those who need it. Over the summer we will continue a conversation we have started with families for them to shape too what we do next & refine it all as the next part of our plans.

Where you can raise money. For a cause that's close to your heart. When you have committed to something that is far more important than you are. When you are emotionally connected to that vision. There is no requirement for motivation. The drive within you will be there regardless of how you feel, on any given day. Make this week the week that you commit, and take action. #mapps

DUCFS 2024 : £230,000 supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably @calmzone and DUCFS Launchpad @ducfslaunchpad We are incredibly excited to announce that all profits are in support of @calmzone and @ducfslaunchpad. This will fund 2 extra phone lines on CALM’s helpline, which could allow for 19,574 more potentially life-saving phone calls, as well as an educational campaign in the North East. This campaign will seek to educate young people in the region on the risks of suicide and how to seek support. Additionally, this will support future Launchpad projects in the Durham community. Please note the total figure has been calculated based on all expected costs. Made of 38 exec members, 50 models, 6 comperes, 50 ambassadors, 33 corporate partners and a sell out audience of 3,800. DUCFS 2024 has been the biggest yet. With a 41 year-long commitment to making a tangible charitable impact, DUCFS remains the largest student-led fundraising event in Europe. We are so grateful to everyone who attended the show and supported our mission to break mental health stigmas and foster open conversations about mental health over the past 9 months.
