🚨 Coming Soon: Urine Toxicology Explained – Case Study #1! 🚨 We’re excited to launch our new series, Urine Toxicology Explained, where we’ll dive into common and complex toxicology cases to help clinicians better understand how to interpret urine drug testing results. 🔍 Case Study #1: Decoding Methamphetamine Positive Results One of the most frequent inquiries our clinical toxicology team receives is about positive methamphetamine results. Determining whether the detected methamphetamine originates from illicit use, a prescribed medication, or an over-the-counter product can be critical for patient care decisions. In our first installment, we’ll break down: ✅ The role of isomer analysis in distinguishing between D- and L-methamphetamine. ✅ Key steps to differentiate illicit methamphetamine from prescribed or OTC sources. ✅ Why understanding these key takeaways is vital for patient management and provider-patient trust. 💡 Stay tuned as we share valuable insights to support your practice and help you navigate these challenging scenarios with confidence! 📢 Got specific toxicology questions or cases you'd like us to feature in future installments? Drop us a message or comment below—we’d love to hear from you!

At Lhasa Limited, we believe that there are 3 fundamental principles behind good decisions on chemical safety: 1. All relevant knowledge and data should be used; 2. Uncertainty and assumptions should be made explicit; 3. Decision-making should start from what is generally agreed as ‘best practice’ but over-ruled when necessary. We address these by: 1. Developing solutions that include public data and knowledge and that donated by our members; 2. Developing science to define uncertainty and by describing assumptions and applicability of data/prediction; 3. Working with experts from industry and regulators to define ‘best practice’, publishing it in peer-reviewed journals and encoding it into our solutions Pooja’s poster presents our position on best practice for the assessment of skin sensitisers. It is great to see this work acknowledged and a big thank you for all those experts who have helped us reach this point.
During the recent Society of Toxicology (SOT) annual meeting, one of our posters was selected for the top 10 best #RiskAssessment abstract award by the Risk Assessment Speciality Section! 🏅 Authored by Lhasa scientist, Pooja Tomar, the poster titled “Best practice for conducting expert review of sensitisation data and predictions” highlights the critical importance of implementing best practices in skin sensitisation risk assessment to ensure consistent application of methods and reasoning for regulatory acceptance. ✍ Learn more about the award-winning poster, in our #blog: https://ow.ly/CLkT50R2ZeH #ScientistSpotlight #SkinSensitisation #BlogPost #Toxicology
