The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics is underway! ⚽ We couldn’t help but notice some exciting initiatives, especially as we gear up to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup here in the U.S.: 🌿 The Olympics is prioritizing sustainability, aiming for 50% less CO2 emissions than previous games: 95% of the event venues are existing or temporary, the Athlete's Village will run on geothermal and solar power, and electric boats will be used for the Opening Ceremony on July 26th.   🤳 With 500,000 daily travelers expected, the Olympics will leverage technology to streamline spectator transportation by using interactive Metro maps, a “Transport Public Paris 2024” app, and transit passes available for purchase via the app.   🎖 The games will showcase cutting-edge innovation, including medals made with recycled iron from Eiffel Tower renovations and using drone-like buoys during the sailing competition to protect the fragile seagrass environment below.   What’s your favorite Summer Olympics competition? Tech Olympics as a new sport  ? 🏅💻 A little over 130 years ago , the Olympic committee was created. After that there has been massive improvements in the Tech world. And the market started to become very competitive. With big competition within the countries who are more developed in technologies  there have been requests for national teams competing with each other in other science-supplied areas. So the Olympic committee decided to hold the first ever Tech Olympic games in 2026, even though the host city hasn't been identified yet. The possible events in the games will be:  a robotics pentathlon, autonomous car races, esports competitions and sustainability-focused challenges. But with whose names will the robots compete ? The answer is simple , scientists who will be behind the project. This will also give a chance to scientists who are behind big innovations to become known. “I think in the 21st century, the winner is going to be the winner of the technology race, not the 10,000 meters,” WTG CEO Alexander Brown said, arguing for the importance of celebrating today’s great thinkers, most of whom are not as famous as the world’s top athletes. “In this country alone, 72% of the people can’t name a living scientist,” he added. There are concerns about the impact of #climatechange on #OlympicGames, especially endurance events, such as marathons…It is expected that more areas will be unable to host the Games due to climate change... The number of current possible host cities will decline by up to 27% worldwide by the late twenty-first century. Dozens of emerging cities, especially in Asia, will not be capable of hosting….under the highest #emission scenario. With our partnership with the ATP Tour + TDI and in concert with Catapult + STATSports we will be providing any participating player and their team access to our BreakAway platform. Tennis is the perfect sport to monitor load. An Ace or a near miss after a 40 shot rally are both worth the same on the score board, but they are not worth the same to a player's body. Now players can monitor every point, every set, every match, and compare that to other stats, other info, and their training.
