If I were to write a script featuring similar heist scenes from Assen, my thieves wouldn't head towards Germany, but rather to the northern port of Eemshaven. From here, a small cargo ship (3000-4000 DWT), about 100 meters, with 8-10 crew members, is perfect for transport. There are many small trading companies (grains, lumber, etc.), insignificant ports, relaxed controls, and most importantly, everyone is looking towards Germany. Two routes seem dreamy to me: Eemshaven → North Sea → Skagerrak → Kattegat → Baltic Sea → Gdansk Eemshaven → Gulf of Finland → Tallinn → Saint Petersburg I don't think the artifacts will ever be found. Based on their MO, they were professionals. With all due respect to Mr. Butoi, they weren't Romanians. Everything went so smoothly that it's clear each move was planned well in advance - perhaps even since they arrived in the Netherlands in summer 2024. BTW, by now, the artifacts have already been delivered... https://lnkd.in/da5pxedd https://lnkd.in/dZyVf3Sy #DacianGold #ArtHeist #StrongholdTreasures #BalticRoute #BlackMarketArt #MaritimeCrime #HeritageTheft #NorthSeaOperation #CargoInvestigation #EuropeanArtUnderground

Nautiterm (Nautical Terms Explained): "Shiver My Timbers" Shiver My (or "me" if you’re a pirate) Timbers is a mock oath that originated from real nautical slang. It refers to the wooden support frames of a sailing ship, or timbers, which would "shiver" in heavy / rough seas. #HSBTechnicalLtd #Nautiterm #MaritimeHistory #MaritimeRecruitment

Nautiterm (nautical terms explained): Chock-a-Block A block and tackle is a pulley system used on sailing ships to hoist the sails. The phrase "Chock-a-Block" describes what occurs when the system is raised to its fullest extent – when there is no more rope free and the blocks collide and jam tightly together. Predictably this lead to its current meaning, “crammed so tightly together as to prevent movement”. #hsbtechnical #nautiterm #maritimehistory #maritimerecruitment

Trivia Tuesday! Who remembers Gemco? I remember going to the one in Mission Viejo as a kid. With that, here are some trivia questions for you. 1) Where was the first Gemco store located? 2) What year was it established? 3) What business did many of the West Coast locations sell to? Hint: if you know where the Mission Viejo Gemco was, you will know the business it sold to. The tradition of ship naming ceremonies has a rich history spanning millennia. Historical records indicate that as far back as the 3rd millennium BC, the maritime community in Babylonia engaged in rituals for both launching and naming their ships. While all other aspects of ship construction are rooted in science, the decision to name a ship has frequently been influenced by beliefs, traditions, and sometimes superstitions. #MaritimeHistory #ShipLaunching #NauticalHistory #MaritimeHeritage #PortOperations #PortManagement #PortLogistics #MaritimeServices #VesselManagement #ShippingIndustry #BulkCargo #DIABOS
