𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 (Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam) 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬! 🚁🌊
We were honoured by a visit from Ingrid Coenradie | Staatssecretaris van Justitie en Veiligheid, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid (Ministry of Justice and Security). We had an engaging conversation about 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐢𝐫, 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐦. Given her role and responsibilities, she is an invaluable partner for both DronePort Rotterdam and the Port of Rotterdam in 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 in a world where the 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐢ntertwined.
Beyond her visit, we made 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that open doors to exciting possibilities:
➡ Researching how we can 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 across 32 countries.
➡ Exploring how to 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐤𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬.
➡ 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨-𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝 in what is undoubtedly one of the most promising emerging technologies, as long as the focus remains on high-value, meaningful use cases.
And, of course, it's the people who truly make World Port Days special. One of my highlights was 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝟗𝟎-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫—full of life and energy. When we asked him his secret, he simply said: "Doe alleen dingen die je zin geven en die zinvol zijn." (𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥). That piece of wisdom made our day, and we couldn't resist giving him a big hug in gratitude! ❤️
Later today, we will be making a video recap of Day 2 and 3 - we have so much footage that we couldn’t choose! 🎥
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, and today was another perfect example of that.
Not pictured, but just as relevant, our good friend and political mastermind, Gillis Oudeman!
