At EEI 2024 Jensen Huang talked about a new business model for electric utilities where the grid becomes a marketplace that dynamically connects new supply and demand (Pedro Pizarro got to teach Jensen the term "DERMS"). These new supply-demand load profiles will have an unknown impact on equipment performance including premature failure. Asset traceability will be increasingly important for monitoring, understanding, and predicting equipment performance resulting from these load profile changes.

Excited to share a new paper out of Georgia Tech comparing Aeris MIRA Pico and Ultra continuous analyzers with the standard offline TO-11A method. While accurate, the TO-11A method is labor intensive and gives poor temporal resolution. Fast and accurate measurements of formaldehyde are important in understanding the photochemical formation of pollutants in the atmosphere as well as monitoring human exposure to this known carcinogen. The Takeaway: The Aeris sensors have sufficient accuracy and precision to capture the HCHO gradient observed in Atlanta at a lower cost than what is offered by the competition.
