Go to www.lodestarhub.com to learn more and join us in this journey, or please reach out me to connect, collaborate and partner with us. See press release for more! . . . “We are thrilled to partner with the Idaho Conservation League and the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation,” said Alicia Roessler, co-founder and CEO of Lodestar. “These two organizations share the same core values as Lodestar — inspiring people to turn their good intentions into meaningful action and protecting the wild places where we play.” Planning sustainable outdoor adventures can be time-consuming. Lodestar, a free, comprehensive platform for seamless adventure planning, is leading the way in integrating sustainability practices into outdoor recreation. With user-friendly planning tools and top-tier features, the app empowers users to support trusted local grassroots organizations that are doing valuable work in the communities they explore. What if remote mountain communities could be revitalized with trails? That's what the nonprofit Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is doing with the 'Lost Sierra #ConnectedCommunities' project. They've already built 200 miles of new trails and maintained 2,500 miles of existing trails throughout the region. But it's much more than a physical network of trails. They plan to link 15 mountain towns together with a network of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails; economically strengthening the region. What's more, the project is co-initiated and co-managed by town communities and several Tribal nations to recognize and preserve the ancestral homelands and the area's environmental, cultural, and historical #resources. In support of the cause, I'll join hundreds of other cyclists in a 60-mile unpaved bike race north of Tahoe National Forest on June 15th. If you like the sound of the #cause and want to #contribute, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/gTqK3Wtm Project benefits: 🏃♂️ 🚴♀️ 🏇💨 Promoting healthy, active lifestyles and sustainable forms of recreation across the 15 interlinked towns. 🌻 🐂 🐟 🏞 Protecting the area's environmental, cultural, and historical resources. 🙋♂️ 🥞 🗺 🙋♀️ Economically revitalizing the region by increasing tourism spending in local small businesses. 🚒 🔥 👩🚒 🏔 Supporting essential fire prevention and recovery. Here are the four main phases of their work: 1. #Planning — Integrated Trails development mapping and planning. 2. #EnvironmentalReview — Compliance with #NEPA and #CEQA federal and state requirements. 3. #Construction — Trail and capital improvement development projects. 4. #Maintenance — Annual and long-term maintenance. Note: Any fund entry fee refunds that the organizers send me will also get pledged to the cause. For more info: https://lnkd.in/g4y5iUGd

I am excited to share the Mangrove Birdwatching Photo Competition 2025, an initiative led by Bale Nara Lombok cooperated with Better Together Indonesia to celebrate and protect the unique local and migrant bird species in the Bagek Kembar Mangrove Ecotourism Area, West Lombok. As part of annual waterbird census, this initiative is more than just a competition. It is about: 1. Conservation: Developing a bird species catalog to guide long-term preservation efforts. 2. Supporting carbon offset projects: Highlighting the critical role of mangroves in capturing and storing carbon. 3. Creating local jobs: Empowering community members as professional birdwatching guides. 4. Boosting eco-tourism: Attracting travelers who value sustainability and natural beauty. 5. Engaging youth: Inspiring the next generation to care for the environment and develop new skills. We aim to raise $11,958 to make this project a reality. Your support can help us fund conservation efforts, workshops, prizes, and activities that will create a lasting impact on both the environment and the community. Here is how you can help: 1. Donate to support bird cataloging, training, and conservation workshops. 2. Share this campaign to reach more people who care about biodiversity and sustainable tourism. 3. Partner with us to sponsor specific event activities. Every contribution matters. Together, we can preserve Lombok’s biodiversity, empower its communities, and showcase it as a leader in eco-tourism. DPD has donated £50,000 to Gasworks Dock Partnership to support the nature conservation work at Cody Dock on the banks of the River Lea, adjacent to our flagship London sortation centre, Docklands. Gasworks Dock Partnership is a registered charity and social enterprise formed to act as a vehicle for the community-led regeneration of Cody Dock and local waterways. The charity aims to help people access the Lower Lea’s environment and celebrate the area’s industrial heritage by developing a community-based arts and creative industries quarter, forge links with the wider community and work with volunteers to clean up and restore the riverside. In November 2023, we opened our new Docklands centre, next to Cody Dock. One of our most sustainable sortation facilities to date, Docklands has capacity for 500 electric vehicles, which means DPD can provide an all-electric delivery service within London’s north and south circular area. DPD has donated £50,000 from our Eco Fund to create Kingfisher and Sand Martin habitat and nesting sites at Cody Dock. Kingfishers nest on linear waterways, including the River Lea and have been spotted at Cody Dock, while Sand Martins are a migratory bird that normally burrows in steep sandy cliffs, but have been seen nesting in the gaps in the dock wall. The project includes volunteer recruitment and schools engagement as well as the installation of a Kingfisher bank and Sand Martin nest tubes with monitoring equipment. Tim Jones, Director of Marketing, Communications & Sustainability at DPD commented: “We are delighted to be able to support the team at Cody Dock with these two projects. We are still relatively new in the area, but it has been fantastic to find out more about the ongoing work to restore the dock and protect habitats and biodiversity. It is clear the local community is hugely engaged with the facilities and the project, and we very much want to play a role in that and contribute positively to the area. While the Docklands site is one of our most sustainable in the UK and we continue to transform our own operation, we also want to support organisations like Gasworks Dock Partnership, that are able to directly protect and enhance the ecosystems we are all reliant on.”

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿: 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘄𝘁𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗽 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁! Have you ever hiked a trail only to find the beauty of the wilderness disrupted by trash or damage? Many of us who enjoy nature know this feeling all too well. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) Cleanup, running from 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟯 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬, offers you the chance to turn that frustration into action. Whether hiking, camping, or just taking in the scenery, this self-guided volunteer event allows you to choose your date and location to contribute. You'll be doing more than just picking up trash—volunteers will be helping with everything from dismantling unauthorized structures to resolving human waste issues. As Susan James, Recreation Program Manager with the SNRA, says, "This is a fun, hands-on opportunity to help protect the core values of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area." Since this event began, volunteers have removed 𝟮𝟯𝟰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹-𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲—a monumental contribution to preserving one of Idaho's most beautiful areas. Camping and hiking are two of my favorite pastimes. I've always felt passionate about keeping our natural spaces as pristine as possible, whether picking up garbage at a campground or repairing trails. There's something incredibly rewarding in knowing you've left a place better than you found it. I hope you seize the opportunity to make a real impact and preserve the wilderness for future generations. If you're interested in joining this effort, see the links below for information on how to get involved. Your contribution makes a difference, one step at a time. #Volunteering #EnvironmentalProtection #OutdoorRecreation #JonathanFrank

Through community development initiatives, ForestPlanet provides essential support to millions living on the edge, from income security to food stability. Trees aren’t just a symbol of growth; they’re a lifeline for communities in need. Join us in celebrating Arbor Day by planting a tree or supporting organizations like ForestPlanet. It's not always one person who owns a woodland... but how does that work?! We often come across groups of people in a Resident Association that own woods - it's happened throughout history but has increased recently. Whether it's people clubbing together to buy woodland to stop development, government transfer of assets, a charity or trust set up to own woodland or many other reasons... 🌳 Here's how it works 🌳 Shared Ownership 🏡: The woodland is collectively owned by the Resident Association (RA), which means it's not private property belonging to one individual, but rather shared by all the homeowners in the community. This allows the group to preserve it for everyone's enjoyment! Stewardship & Maintenance 🌱: The RA is responsible for maintaining the woodland. This includes managing tree health, controlling invasive species, and ensuring paths and open spaces are safe and accessible. They could hire professionals for larger tasks, but volunteers often help with clean-ups and tree planting! 🙌 Community Benefits 🌍: Having communal woodland is a great way to foster community spirit! It provides that group with beautiful, natural spaces for walks, relaxation, and even community events. Plus, it supports local wildlife and helps improve air quality! Funding & Costs 💰: Maintenance and management of the woodland is typically funded through the RA's dues or special assessments. These funds would be used to ensure the group keeps the woodland in great shape for future generations. Decision-Making 🗳️: As a resident, each person would have a say in how the woodland is managed! Major decisions, like new planting projects or changes to the woodland’s use, are usually made through RA meetings where all members can vote. Conservation 🌿: Often, the RA will have agreements or covenants in place to ensure the woodland is preserved as green space, preventing any future development. This helps maintain the natural beauty of the neighborhood. So next time you take a stroll through the trees or enjoy the shade on a hot day, remember – it could be a collective space, managed by an RA which all take care of it together! 💚 #CommunityFirst #WoodlandStewardship #SustainableLiving #LoveWhereYouLive
