Freeport-McMoRan Named One Of The Top Community-Minded Companies In U.S. --- PHOENIX — Freeport-McMoRan has again been named one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States with its inclusion on The Civic 50 list that recognizes corporate volunteerism and community engagement. Freeport has made the list 11 times since its inception in 2012. The list is compiled by the Points of Light Foundation, a nonpartisan global nonprofit organization. It recognizes companies with annual U.S. revenues of at least $1 billion that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in investment of resources, stakeholder engagement and volunteerism that is embedded in their policies and demonstrate measurable impacts. Flint Riverkeeper is a non-profit organization that values diversity and inclusion (D&I) in their work. However, they faced a challenge because they lacked the necessary training and confidence to identify strategies that would help them engage in constructive conversations about D&I. To overcome this challenge, they reached out to us for assistance. We provided them with a systematic approach to help them identify practical D&I objectives unique to their organization and aligned with their strategic goals. We reviewed their overall organizational strategic plan, evaluated diversity and inclusion considerations for each objective, and created a draft set of recommendations that highlighted D&I opportunities and offered specific methods to advance D&I. Thanks to our approach, Flint Riverkeeper was able to successfully integrate equity into their planning process, gaining clarity and making an effective plan that they could execute successfully.
