Does experience guarantee success as a Green Beret? The 18X program now makes up more than 50% of today’s Green Beret formations. Major General Gil Ferguson, Commanding General of 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) - US Army, sees 18X strength as a good thing, but also one that comes with a need to develop and train them to be great Special Forces operators. Buying them time is his responsibility. MG Ferguson joined me for a conversation on the culture of the Regiment, how the Special Forces Groups are preparing for regional conflicts with unknown enemies, at unknown times; and just how Green Berets are solidifying themselves as the go-to option in the deep sensor fight against our peer adversaries. He also explains the SOF-Space-Cyber Triad, where he sees Special Forces in a decade, and as our units evolve, what needs to stay the same. Take a listen, watch, or read my conversation with America’s top Green Beret, then head over to our YouTube channel to watch General Ferguson share the lineage of America’s first Special Forces in the Jedburgh Media Channel’s first documentary, Unknown Heroes, Behind Enemy Lines at D-Day, the story of Operation Jedburgh. 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁 The first Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) exercise of FY 2025 is in full swing, with over 9,000 troops from the 25th Infantry Division, U.S. joint forces, and 9 partner nations. This is not just another exercise – it's a glimpse into the future of Pacific operations. Led by the 25th Infantry Division’s 2nd Light Brigade Combat Team, this exercise incorporates new technologies, tactics, and formations that could redefine how we engage in tomorrow's battles. From rapid infiltration exercises to multi-island combat simulations, it's a comprehensive test of coordination across diverse terrains, stretching from Hawaii to Palau and Guam. Brig. Gen. Kevin Williams emphasized the importance of lessons learned: “We’re testing the tactics and technologies of the future – and sharing insights across brigades to ensure continuous improvement.” This exercise not only sharpens the skills of the 25th ID but also lays the groundwork for future deployments, including Operation Pathways next year. In a bid to reshape the future of infantry operations, the United States Marine Corps has launched Phase 2 of its infantry battalion experiment. This phase focuses on introducing new capabilities and additional medical staff to enhance the battalion's effectiveness. The experiment involves 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, based at Twentynine Palms, California. The initial phase of the experiment explored different battalion sizes and incorporated cutting-edge technology while reducing the number of Marines in independent combat operations. Traditionally, infantry battalions consisted of around 965 Marines and sailors, but following Force Design 2030 changes, the Marine Corps aimed to streamline these units. The new battalion model will comprise 811 Marines and 69 Navy support personnel, with a focus on maximizing precision strike, counter-drone, and electronic warfare capabilities. Phase 2 introduces several key enhancements, including the addition of a Navy corpsman to each squad, expanded electronic warfare capabilities, water purification, organic electrical power generation, and the development of unmanned tactical resupply systems. The objective is to create self-sustaining battalions capable of operating in austere environments with limited external support. This initiative reflects the Marine Corps' commitment to evolving its infantry capabilities to effectively counter emerging threats. By embracing new technologies and rethinking traditional structures, the Marine Corps is preparing for the challenges of future warfare. #MarineCorps #InfantryBattalion #Experiment #ForceDesign2030 #MilitaryInnovation #FutureWarfare

Sustainment NCOs provide a unique strategic advantage to execute sustainment operations at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. The Army's senior enlisted sustainer, says for these NCOs it is imperative that they major in warfighting and minor in sustainment operations. As a prerequisite to obtaining a degree in warfighting, sustainment NCOs must be brilliant at the basics. They must know their roles within each, refine their skills, and establish a sustainable path for the future force. Check out the CSM Seller's article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eqR_4mBi

[Taking a Course, Listening to a Talk or Presentation] You ought to know these.... "learn engineering from practitioners", "learn parenting from parents of successful kids" and "learning entrepreneurship from still-surviving business owners".... You do not put your kids to a mathematics class if the teacher's kid can't even get an A in mathematics. More importantly, you do not waste your time listening to paper talkers or paper engineers. For Radar and EW, the priority should be to attend classes conducted by local experts due to obvious reasons. #singapore #singaporean Republic of Singapore Navy Republic of Singapore Air Force Singapore Army DSTA DSO National Laboratories ST Engineering NCS Group HTX (Home Team Science & Technology Agency)

Here's a breakdown of the job cuts: Counterinsurgency Operations in Iraq/Afghanistan: 10,000 positions Stryker, Infantry, Cavalry, SF (foreign force training): 10,000 positions Special Operations: 3,000 positions The Army will shift its focus towards enhancing air defense capabilities by allocating 7,500 new positions to air defense brigades and counter-drone units.
