There's a lot that an architect needs to take care of on a daily basis. It's an overwhelming profession overall. But the problem with being too busy all the time is that it may sometimes lead to shortcuts. With so much on your plate, you might end up overlooking a few important things that may seem irrelevant in the grander scheme of things but, in reality, are actual game-changers. When we take on more projects than we can handle, we're forced to compromise in many areas. We compromise, thinking they don't matter, but the truth is, they may not matter today. Still, their consequences are seen in the long run, and it's not pretty. Yes, we all want to do more work because why not? But what matters at the end of the day is not about how much work you do but how well you do it. Doing well-researched, thoughtful, work will not only help you create good designs but will also fill your life with more meaning and satisfaction. It's a win-win for everyone involved. So, maybe it's time to reconsider the busy lives we often glorify as architects. Because, keep in mind, sometimes being busy is a form of laziness. #architecture #architecturalwriting #architects
