Job application question: I've looked at a few job postings today that include disclaimers at the very bottom with language along the lines of: "We collect, retain and use personal data for our professional business purposes, including notifying you of job opportunities that may be of interest and sharing with our affiliates." Is this common practice? Or do I need to be wary of these listings/potential employers? Is there a way for me to apply while opting out?

Going through the rues of Job Applications. You get up everyday with the optimism of landing a great job and that drives you into the multiverse of several job sites and countless job applications, from cover letters to resumes to CV's to introduction videos (which I deem highly unnecessary btw). There seem to be so many vacancies but very little career success, it's either you are hindered by location, time zone or even ethnicity in some cases. we put up so many walls for people in need of other people's skill who most times just need a place to help them stay off the streets and save them from becoming perpetual beggars for their daily needs. I thought the idea of having a formidable team is the inclusion of diversity in experiences, race and ability, that way, ideas never run out as the team keeps digging into their hats of experiences that has shaped them for that particular moment. All i'm saying is, getting a job shouldn't be as frustrating and depressing as it's getting, some of us just want to work and become a part of something much larger than ourselves, we just want to become a blessing to another person's life through our skills. Easy up recruiters, it's not that deep you know!

They strike again!! 🤦♀️ Are you feeling overwhelmed with the number of candidates applying to your job? 😵 ⚠ Did you know not contacting all candidates who applied to your job can be damaging to your company's reputation? ⚠ Not to mention, there's a person on the other end of the application who essentially doesn't care what the answer is 🙇♀️ they just want to hear back. Every single candidate I speak to about their job search tells me they hear back from just 1/10 applications 😲 That's absolutely poor form! If you're finding the volume too overwhelming, get in touch! We can discuss a solution for you to fit your budget, and save your reputation ✔ 09 887 4974 charlotte@eclipserecruitment.co.nz

3 things that will set you apart from the hundreds of other applicants... 1. Apply to companies that do not use easy apply. The application process may take a little longer but that means less people will apply, aka less competition. 2. Send an inmail or a connection request (this is not as helpful as a couple years ago but still worth a shot) 3. Go above and beyond- send a video message or even find their business email and send them a quick email about why you would be a good fit. #interviewtips #jobsearch #application #apply

Hey Employers! If you NEED a certain type of employee, then you MUST write your job posting announcement accurately! You HURT your team (and your new hire) if your requirements document is not specific enough. MOST job searchers won't waste YOUR time (or theirs) in applying for jobs for which they aren't a good fit, so PLEASE learn how to target your search!

Pressed 'submit' on your job application and didn't hear back? Let’s peek behind the scenes of the job application process. (And I’ll show you how to beat the system). First, your resume usually lands in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). This is where it's scanned for keywords relevant to the job description. If it passes, it lands in a recruiter's inbox, where the real scrutiny begins. Now, it's not just about your skills - it's about how your experience aligns with the company's needs. Understanding this process can significantly increase your chances of getting hired. So, here’s what you can do to get hired. 1. Tailor your resume to each job description. 2. Use relevant keywords in your resume and cover letter. 3. Highlight your most relevant experiences and quantify your impact. These 3 things can significantly boost your chances of getting noticed by recruiters. So, next time you're sending an application, focus on quality over quantity. Align your application with the job's requirements. Trust me, it's worth it.
