Here's an interesting fact about Argentina: Tango, one of the most famous and passionate dance styles in the world, originated in the working-class neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, in the late 19th century. Initially considered controversial for its close embrace and suggestive movements, Tango eventually gained popularity and became an integral part of Argentine culture. Today, Tango is celebrated worldwide for its elegance, emotion, and intricate footwork.

At the heart of the Argentine Tango lies the concept of axis. Axis refers to the imaginary line running through the center of a dancer’s body, providing stability and balance. Maintaining a strong axis is crucial in executing complex movements and techniques like the colgada. Both partners must be aware of their own axis and that of their partner to achieve a harmonious connection. As said by Daniel in “Argentine Tango Best Practices – 3. Axis”: “Axis is important because it impacts our balance, our ability to execute movements smoothly and without undo effort, and it impacts the level of comfort (or discomfort) that we feel with our partners. It’s important to understand axis because sometimes our axis is compromised while dancing. The compromise often stems from a lack of awareness.” Axis is very much crucial in tango because the strength of your connection with your partner, as well as the complexity of your movements, depends on it. For example, without a proper understanding of axis, it would be almost impossible to execute movements like the volcada, ocho, or giro in their full beauty. Being aware of your own axis and that of your partner allows you to move together in harmony, creating a unified and mesmerizing performance. READ MORE: https://smpl.is/8qxj0

The Power Of "Duende" I have just been on an extended family break to the Andalusian region of Spain, so prepare yourselves for a few Spanish themed posts! 😁 One of the best experiences I had while we were away was a truly unforgettable Flamenco show in Malaga City. I love flamenco, and we have been to several shows before, but this one was like nothing I have every experienced. I had also heard of "el duende" but this is the first time I have experienced it. "El Duende" is used as the term for the deep connection between the performer and the audience. It's not just about their technical brilliance, its more about the absolute raw emotion, and shared energy that captures the whole room. The sheer power of the connection between the singers, the guitarist and the dancers was electric, and they poured their hearts & souls into every movement, every note. 5 people in total sync...passionate about their purpose! I was actually quite emotional experiencing it, and can feel goosebumps as I think about it again. Why bring this to my Linked In post today? The magic of this experience, got me thinking about the power of connection within a team. Just like flamenco dancers create duende, high-performing teams can also create something magic when they truly connect. It's about more than just skills and experience - it's about trust, vulnerability, and a shared passion for their purpose...just like these performers. When everyone is on the same page, feels supported, and isn't afraid to bring their whole selves to the table, that's when incredible things can happen. Have you ever experienced duende, either in flamenco or within a team? Share your thoughts in the comments! #Malaga #flamenco #duende #teamwork #connection #leadership

An opera is not your usual incentive or reward. Here's how I transformed an opera into an innovative experience. I created it for companies that want to invest in their team's cultural and emotional intelligence. "Si dice in Italia" is an opera by American composer Lawrence Siegel. It tells the stories and challenges of people he interviewed during his 40 years back and forth in Italy. When I met Larry and read the script as he was still working on the opera, I immediately had a vision. I knew it was perfect as a corporate reward. Offering top performers a trip to Italy to see the opera is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But why stop at the theatre? I planned an incentive trip through the cities that inspired the masterpiece. The benefits of choosing this opera as a reward and incentive are: 1. Cultural enrichment "Si dice in Italia" offers employees a deep cultural experience. It goes beyond typical rewards. It's a chance to immerse in Italy's rich culture. It fosters a deeper appreciation for global cultures among the workforce. 2. Motivation and inspiration The incentive trip through Italy's cities can inspire new ideas and perspectives. These are beneficial to both the individuals and the company. 3. Team bonding Shared experiences foster teamwork, especially in unusual and enriching situations like this. They build a sense of camaraderie, contributing to a more collaborative work environment. 4. Boost in reputation Investing in this unique incentive program enhances a company's reputation. It shows they are an innovative leader that values its employees. -- What was the most rewarding experience you enjoyed during an incentive trip? #EventProfs #Incentive #Rewards

🎨 A good tango is like a work of art. Something to be marveled at, admired, respected, and enriched by certain traditions embedded in it. 💃🕺 Argentine Tango is an art that anyone can master, with a little practice and coordination. Whether you want to impress a partner, keep fit and dance at the same time, or just explore fun and rewarding hobby, the tango could well be for you. Dancing the tango can even become a spiritual experience. 🎭 If you are not practicing the tango yourself, it can be sumptuous and sensual to watch, in-person and on-screen. There is an elegance and beauty about two people so completely in sync with each other, moving as one and yet in a vibrant and exciting way, it is hard not to be drawn in. That connection is something often explored on the big screen too. 🎥 Tango makes a great plot device for bringing two characters together and demonstrating their feelings for each other. That, in turn, has led to some iconic scenes from movies in which stars had to learn to tango. 📰 READ MORE: https://smpl.is/8wfln #tango #tangodance #dancetango #tangodreams #emotion #intuition #gutsfeeling #beginnertango #beginnerdance #dancetango #dance #dancer #experience #performance #firstdance #weddingdance #tangodance
