Yesterday, I was delighted to be able to celebrate Diwali at WTW! Myself and Aditi Amonkar, Anisha Bhavnani, Malvika Kulshreshtha, Bhavna Dangwal and Gracy Singh held a session bringing awareness about the meaning of Diwali and how it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs across the world. During the session I facilitated a panel discussion to speak about how colleagues across WTW were celebrating this year, and why it’s important to feel like you can bring your whole self to work. We also had a Rangoli station and it was great to see some of the creative designs! Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali 🪔✨

Yesterday, myself and some of my Employee Experience colleagues attended Public Speaking training hosted by Nicky Moran at Ginger Leadership Communications which was focussed on presence and impact when delivering presentations. It was a full day interactive session which I found really valuable and the skills I learnt will be easily applied to my job at WTW. Key things I learnt during the session: ✅ Have self-awareness - of your body, your mind and your voice ✅ Be yourself - authenticity is key when connecting with your audience ✅ Think about your impact - having a purpose when presenting can make all the difference in your delivery After attending this training I feel much more confident about public speaking and handling the nerves that come with it!

I recently attended the YDWC Network’s Summer Retreat, which was something a little different to my usual weekend plans and I’ve been left truly inspired. I had the chance to connect with like minded individuals and hear from a range of speakers such as Bernadette T. , Lalita Taylor FRSA, Ayodele Daniel Jenyo and Uyiosa Osawe about a range of topics including adopting a growth mindset, financial literacy and navigating hidden culture. The theme for the weekend was ‘Community Healing’ and even though I didn’t know many people when I arrived, throughout the weekend I felt like I belonged. For that I am truly grateful. The most powerful thing I have taken away is the importance of being bold and unapologetically authentic with anything that I do. I’d like to thank WTW for the opportunity to attend the retreat and I’ll be sharing my experience with my team and the Multi-cultural Inclusion Network soon. It was also great to meet and spend time with my WTW colleagues Bamishe Alao, Cert CII , Eilyn Evans and Alissa Nash. Thanks again to the YDWC Network for organising such a great and memorable weekend!
