Do a fake testimonal 😕 that's what my business coach said to me a few years ago! This made me question her testimonials - it also made me start questioning her morals! I also thought "is this something other people do" 🤨 My immediate reaction was NO WAY! I had earned the testimonials I had already been given - why would I fake it??? Have you given up hope of an unpaid invoice and wrote it off? Here are reasons why you should never write off an unpaid invoice ⬇ • Reduced cashflow • Reputation - this is a signal to your clients that you have a weak collection process • Future behaviour, leading customers to expect leniency in payment • Value - Writing off invoices means your business's offerings aren’t worth pursuing, which can undermine business integrity. • Payment Terms - This will mean nothing 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 Don't piss about and hope for a miracle - deal with it right away! People's reactions when I mention Terms and Conditions 🥱 And I get that....... • If I needed a new website I wouldn't have a clue where to start    • If I needed new flooring I wouldn't expect the Trades guys to ask me to help    • If I needed a new bathroom I wouldn't be asking the plumber to show me how to plumb in new pipes (is that even a thing.....) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄. My process is really simple and straight forward.  Am not here to create more problems and cause you a lot of confusion My process: 1. Stalk all your social media and website     2. Have a chat with you (I am honestly not as boring as people may think)     3. Do the first draft and send it to you with a Loom Video (it's better you see me chatting than reading a boring long email!!)     4. Make any changes that might be needed     5. I get up at 5 every morning because I want to and not because of the “gurus”! Am usually at my desk between 6 and 6.30 (depending on whether my hair needs washed!) 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 - 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚! Being a mum installed this routine into me - getting everything ready before the kids got up! A few chores like putting a washing on and wiping round the bathroom lol! Getting that couple of hours in the morning before everyone else gets up is a godsend! I love that time to myself. It's getting darker in the mornings now too.....which I love! Even although my kids are now adults I still do it because I still love my time in the morning! I like that bit of time to myself I work better in the mornings It sets me up for the day ahead 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗢𝗡 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝟴.𝟯𝟬 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀! Sweaty palms, palpitations - basically shitting myself! This was me climbing off a bridge at 100 feet!!😱 I signed up to do this for charity, on the spur of the moment thinking I had plenty of time to get my head around this But nothing prepared me lol!  When I saw the height of that bridge (100 feet to be exact) the emotions started piling up 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 - 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 (𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 But when I got over the first hurdle of climbing over that railing, I thought I can't climb back over because that would be worse! I actually rested my feet on that wall for over 4 minutes whilst the guy talked to me calmly (he must have thought WTF - will she just let go!!) 🥺 But I did it 🙌 Would I do it again - absolutely NOT Am I glad I did it - hell YES Because I did this Craig thinks I can zipline through the mexican jungle or go on the cable car in Madeira (if you know you know)! I don't think I will be ziplining anywhere..... Anyway face your fears at least once in your lifetime - we only live once! I've had a call from Trading Standards 🥺 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗺! When I asked why he said "it's something to do with a 14 day COOLING OFF PERIOD"!  He told me he had Terms and Conditions and gave ALL his customers these but after more digging, he eventually told me he was now working with CONSUMERS. 𝗛𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 One of his customers had a dispute with him and wasn't paying his invoice, so this pissed off customer decided to report my client to Trading Standards This customer asked for a refund and my client refused..... This customer started quoting the Consumer Regulations Act blah blah blah....... This customer was correct - my client did not have the 14 day cooling off period visible anywhere on his terms and conditions! 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘭 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽! I managed to get his Terms and Conditions done and dusted within 24 hours - urgency was a big factor here! I also spoke with Trading Standards and explained that most business owners don't know about the 14 day cooling off period.  I had a nice person who listened and she took this on board! He luckily didn't get a fine but they went through absolutely everything in his business and they will be "checking in" on him every 12 months! In the last 12 months I've COLLECTED over £500,000 in unpaid invoices This is money my clients have worked hard for! They work with a client in good faith and then when the INVOICE is issued, they get ghosted! Some of my clients were even going to write their invoices off and put it down to "experience"! 3 of my clients were even at risk of SHUTTING THEIR BUSINESS down because they had run out of cash and they didn't want the hassle anymore Here are 5 pieces of advice to help you get paid: • Never Give Up    • Lift the phone a few days before and check they have your invoice and there are no issues    • If the money isn't in the bank on the due date, LIFT THE PHONE within 24 hours and chase it    • Don't think the money will just appear - if they were going to pay it on time, they would have    • If it's a LARGER COMPANY push harder - don't listen to their excuses    Make sure you have given them your TERMS AND CONDITIONS at the very beginning, this will definitely save a lot of hassle as it could come down to a "he said, she said" situation! Common excuses large CORPORATE companies use when they haven't paid your INVOICES  • we HAVEN'T got you on our system    • we don't have a PURCHASE ORDER number    • we don't pay to YOUR TERMS - we pay to our's 🙄    • we only make PAYMENTS once a month    • we don't know what you are TALKING about    • we don't have your INVOICE Have I missed any?? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚  1. Get the details of the person who pays the invoices     2. Give them T's and C's -  negotiate your payment terms     3. 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀     4.
