Since the 1940s, ductile iron has seen widespread use in various applications. But in its application as a pole material, ductile iron has only been used in the past dozen years, making it a relative newcomer to the utility industry. Ductile iron is similar A588 steel with a slight difference in iron content. But that’s not all. There are distinct structural performance differences between steel and ductile iron that make it an ideal material for use as a structural support. #setitandforgetit #ironstrong

Moving molten slag with Bulk Equipment! — What is slag? It’s a byproduct generated during the manufacturing process of steel! Formed by removing the impurities separated from raw iron ore, slag might look like a waste product but, it’s actually used for tons of different things! — Here are a few things used everyday that steel slag helps produce! 1.) Construction Aggregate/Road Base 2.) Cement Production 3.) Railroad Ballast 4.) Mineral Wool — The reuse of steel slag not only helps in minimizing waste but also contributes to long term sustainable practices! #steelmill #steel #heavyequipment #molten

Impressive figures of climate protection and resource conservation by using ferrous slag based products in Europe! #slag #secondaryrawmaterials #by-products #climateprotection #resourceconservation #buildingmaterials #CO2 #steelindustry #cement #concrete #fertilizers #metallurgy #sustainability #CircularEconomy
In 2023, 35.8 million tons of ferrous slag were produced across Europe. Of this, 19.9 million tonnes were blast furnace slag and 15.9 million tonnes were steelwork slag. 93% of these secondary raw materials were used in various applications, primarily in #cement and #concrete, in transport construction, as #fertilizers and in #metallurgy. This prevented the extraction of 44 million tons of natural rock and the emission of 12 million tons of #CO2. In the period from 2000 to 2023, it is even 1.17 billion tons and 416 million tons of CO2!!! 👍 top contribution to #resourceconservation 👍 top contribution to #climateprotection 👍 top contribution to #circulareconomy #slag #secondaryrawmaterials #by-products #climateprotection #conservingresources #buildingmaterials #CO2 #steelindustry #cement #concrete #fertilizers #metallurgy #sustainability #CircularEconomy

Steel Plant in Iran Overcomes Challenges with Alternative Raw Materials 🚀 An Iranian steel plant faced a significant challenge: the dominance of major metallurgical plants dictating scrap metal prices. This squeezed smaller plants like theirs, forcing them to seek alternative raw materials. Initially, they turned to Direct Reduced Iron (DRI). However, melting DRI proved difficult. Through years of experimentation, they mastered its use but were later met with rising DRI prices. 💡 To overcome these hurdles, they incorporated our slag-based materials into their steel production process. This strategic move allowed them to reduce reliance on expensive DRI and improve overall efficiency. ✅ By adopting our materials, the plant has demonstrated resilience and adaptability in a challenging market. Their success story highlights the potential of alternative raw materials in transforming the steel industry. Ready to explore how our solutions can empower your steel production? Let's connect! #innovation #smartscrap #steelproduction #foundry #sustainability #costreduction #rawmaterials #alternativematerials #casestudy #castiron #castironskulls #skulls #metallurgy #steelmill #slag #slagmanagement #scrap #ferrousscrap
