It’s not a lack of bubble baths and massages that drives private practice owners towards burnout, it’s stress over money and to-do-list overwhelm. Your practice needs to be charging out your services at a rate that doesn’t just cover the bottom line. Your fees need to be an umbrella covering you for sick days and holidays (when there is no income generation), unexpected bills, and the costs associated with growth. And that doesn’t even come anywhere near profit … which, might I remind you, is a sign of a sustainable business, not a sign of greed! If you’re not consistently marketing your services (and no, that is not just plonking an ad on Facebook and hoping for the best), how will potential clients, referrers (and maybe even future staff) know you exist? How will they come to know, like and trust you? Why would they choose you over all those other services that are marketing regularly. And that’s just the beginning. How will you afford help to delegate that to-do list if you haven’t set up a supportive fee structure? Or if you’re not attracting enough clients, because no one knows you exist. I know this sounds like a lot. And it is … because this is the thing that will either underpin or undermine your practice’s survival. It’s up to you, but it doesn’t have to be you alone. That’s where I come in. I have three ways that I can support you: 1. Like A Boss is the 6-month intensive deep dive program (limited to six spots, starts in June); 2. If you prefer individual support, you can just straight onto my website and book yourself some time with me; 3. I’m working on a new ongoing program exclusively for solo practitioners … if this interests you, please shoot me a message and I’ll pop you on the waitlist. Meanwhile, know that I understand how stressful it can be sometimes. How isolating and overwhelming. Please trust that it doesn’t have to be that way, and you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’d love to help. Much love, Tess x #psychologist #privatepractice #businesscoach #lutruwita #tasmania #naarm #melbourne #albertpark #nipaluna #hobart #businessowner #burnout

✍️🧠 End of Week Reflections🧠✍️ There’s so much talk about self-care these days that it can start to feel like yet another thing you aren’t doing well enough. The term might evoke images of pedicures and long bubble baths. But, as self-care expert Robyn Gobin (2019) shares, “Real self-care means asking yourself, What do I need most right now on a soul level?” Real self-care could mean: Taking a step toward a goal you’ve been putting off Asking for help Straightening out your finances Engaging in a creative outlet Setting relationship boundaries Making a change that will help your future self And you can practice real self-care in many domains of your life, including work, relationships, health, intellectual pursuits, social activism, or spirituality. Ideally, self-care should be anchored in your values and should fill your soul. Daily Writing: My Real Self-Care, When you take good care of yourself; what do you do? How do you neglect yourself? What is the impact on you? If you were going to take better care of yourself this month, what would self-care look like in terms of your health, work, relationships, finances, intellectual pursuits, altruistic efforts, or spirituality? What could be your daily self-care practice? Today’s Practice Find one small (or big) way to practice self-care and prioritize doing it today. Be sure it’s aligned with your values and is realistic for you in your life as it is. https://lnkd.in/ghvuC7BU #Wellbeing #Dailypractice #reflection #change

Society glorifies hustle culture So this is your reminder that it's ok to slow down There is always more work to be done... so it's important to consider: 1) whether the work you're doing is actually possible to finish 2) whether the work you're doing has to be finished today or can it wait? With many professionals I've worked with... much of the pressure to complete tasks is self-imposed If they don't finish xyz task they set out to complete by days end: they feel guilty they feel like they don't deserve to rest Then they take their workload home with them mentally All of this happens when we measure our success by what we accomplish When ticking of to-list items becomes an addiction This is why it's so important not to measure our success by the results we produce... rather by the how purposefully we live our life Remember this: Not everything has to be done yesterday Inquire into whether you're working harder than you need to Then ask yourself this question - what's the rush? What do you think about hustle culture in our workplaces? See you in the comments p.s Like, comment and reshare this post to eliminate hustle culture from our society

Here's a personal update and reflection! This year has been one of immense change for me! I moved places, transitioned into private practice, embraced life as an 'adult' living with my parents, and reconnected with the 'student' within me. At the start, I felt uncertain as I shifted gears from working relentlessly to mindfully adopting a slower pace and starting my own practice. It hasn't been easy—it came with a lot of uncertainty, free time that felt foreign, and thoughts of not doing 'enough'. Networking helped but also made me realize the effort required to feel a sense of stability in private practice. Through it all, writing and designing posts gave me a sense of accomplishment. It nurtured the creative part of me and provided a sense of purpose on days when I couldn't see growth elsewhere. Now, as I look back over the last few months, I feel a deep sense of calm, gratitude, and happiness. With over 1500 of you following and supporting me (what even??), I feel a sense of community. A community that has cheered me on, supported me on uncertain days, and provided warmth. This space isn’t and will never be about the numbers; it’s about finding my balance and reclaiming the idea that slow progress is sustainable growth. I’m glad to be able to write about what I’m truly passionate about— mental health —and do the work I’ve always wanted to do in the therapy space. So, this post is a heartfelt thank you to all of you—the ones who sent referrals, clients who shared feedback so openly, those who shared my work, supervisors who encouraged me, spaces that let me take up space, and peers who guided me along. Watching my private practice grow has been a dream come true, and it’s wonderful to see it flourish step by step. We all succeed when one of us does! With that, I do have some exclusive full-payment slots available for June (both in-person and online). If you're searching for a therapist who blends transactional analysis, existential, and solution-focused approaches, please fill out my intake form- https://lnkd.in/gbA_WuaB 💛

Creative Strategist & Project Manager in Digital Marketing | Business Consulting & Coaching for Neurodivergent Solopreneurs
Everyone imagines solopreneurship as a non-stop hustle 📈 Seen as an endless list of tasks and urgent deadlines. But sometimes, it's quite different. Sometimes, it's more about the quiet moments - like a reflective pause with the morning's first cup of coffee. Moments of solitude and silence are vital for gaining clarity, preparing us to transform our creative visions into reality. These pauses in our busy lives are a way of allowing our brain to prioritize resources for our business - but also for our mental and physical health. Make every minute count, both busy and still☕ #SolopreneurLife #FindYourBalance #MondayReflections ___________________________________________________________________ If this message resonated with you, like or share it to spread the inspiration!
