it seems fitting that just short of 9 months since I started nurturing this embryo of an idea, the say less website is finally out in the world. there you can see a bit about our mission statement, and the initial roster of artists that we're working with. The sparknotes version is this: Brands and artists simply have to get closer together. Influencer marketing is dead and brand-owned channels are all but useless. Artists are the last bastions of genuine community leaders within youth culture, and yet they're so often the last people to be consulted on how things look, feel and sound. I feel like it's time to let the art, work. It's time for brands to admit that if they don't hand the keys of creativity over to people who are making waves on their own, campaigns, activations and collaborations are doomed to be little more than 'meh.' Slogan and message all you like, but platitude will never be a substitute for real, authentic creativity. Artists are the future, and action is the way forward. say less, do more.
