Shake your PR plan up a bit and give it a boost of creativity through the power of STEAM education. STEAM injects a healthy and necessary dose of the arts into science, technology, engineering and math. Start early by giving elementary school aged children and their parents opportunity to learn about important aspects of your organization, the way it works and how it impacts the community - all through fun children's books that align with your objectives and strategy. Whether you're working in a school, running a small business or leading marketing efforts for a major corporation, you can get the word out about your impact while strengthening education. It's a win-win-win. Here is an eye-opener: According to a study by the Literacy Trust, students who had an author visit were twice as likely to read above their expected level for their age compared to those who didn’t have an author visit. A survey by Scholastic found that 68% of students reported being more excited about reading after an author visit, and 40% of teachers observed an increase in students' independent reading following a visit. Research from the National Literacy Trust shows that 56% of students said they enjoyed reading more after meeting an author, with 70% of students more likely to recommend books to their friends. There are dozens of more studies on how author visits and speakers positively impact students yet in many schools across the national they A. Don't see value in it & B. Don't have the funding for it. That is why I started the non-profit EmpowerLit-Literacy & Beyond to create a world where every child, regardless of background, feels valued and connected, with the literacy skills to navigate life's challenges. Our goal this year is to visit 25 under privileged schools to give them the same experience I was given as a child through my education as a student in the Sayville Public School District This year we have 10 schools already lined up & we are waiting for funding from every day people like yourself who want to increase a love for learning through author visits Check out my new organization & if you feel inspired, donate to sponsor a school: https://lnkd.in/gH9ku3ht

BOOK BLAST IS HAPPENING AT CHILDREN OF PEACE SCHOOL! Children Of Peace School is about to embark on a school-wide book drive unlike any other! Starting on Monday (tomorrow), September 30, 2024, our school will launch their Books Are Fun Book Blast. This literacy initiative helps our students build their home libraries while also helpingthe school to get more books and school supplies. This program ensures all the students at the school will take home at least one new, fun, age-appropriate book for their home libraries. With the help of the community, friends and family students can earn up to 10 books! HOW DOES ALL THIS WORK? 1.) Students send out invitations to friends and family members to help them reach their goal of taking home all 10 books on their grade-level list. 2.) When you receive an invitation from a student you know, please click on the link in the invitation and help that child by contributing on their personal contribution page. NOTE: 100% of the contributions they receive first go towards the books on their book list and then help other students needing books too. 3.) Any remaining contributions after every student earns all 10books will go toward more books for the school and classroom supplies. If you don’t know a student at the school or receive an invitation to contribute, yet still like to help all students at Children OfPeace School take home more books, you can send your contribution at: https://lnkd.in/gepaBZyv Let’s help Children Of Peace School reach their goal of every student taking home all 10 books! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION! @go.booksarefun #bookblastadventures #bookblast #booksarefun #literacy

As the end of the school year draws ever nearer, it's vital to keep our children engaged in the joys of reading over the summer months. We know at all of your schools you are committed to fostering a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom and into your students' daily lives. One fantastic way to do this is by encouraging them to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge 2024, organized by The Reading Agency. The Summer Reading Challenge is a brilliant initiative that encourages children to read six or more books during the summer holidays. It’s designed to keep young minds active, improve reading skills, and ignite a lifelong passion for books. This year's theme, Marvellous Makers, promises to be both fun and educational, providing a diverse range of books that cater to all interests. Here’s how you can support your children and their families in participating in the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge: Signpost and encourage parents to visit their Local Library: Most libraries are part of the challenge and offer special activities and events. This is a great opportunity for children to discover new books and enjoy a sense of community (it is also usually free to join especially for U16s!) Set Reading Goals: Encourage children to set personal reading goals. Whether it’s a chapter a day or a book a week, setting targets can make reading more rewarding. Discuss Books: Talk to your students about what they are reading. Ask questions, share opinions, and show genuine interest in their reading journey. Model Reading: Children often emulate adult behavior. By showing and sharing your own love for reading, you can inspire your students to do the same. At Great Heights English Hub, we believe that summer reading is not just about keeping skills sharp, but also about discovery, adventure, and the pure enjoyment that comes from a good book. Let’s make this summer a season of reading for pleasure and growth. For more information on the Summer Reading Challenge 2024, visit The Reading Agency's website https://lnkd.in/dSnqegy. Happy reading! #SummerReadingChallenge2024 #ReadingForPleasure #ChildrensBooks #Education #SummerLearning #TheReadingAgency #CommunityReading

Access to quality resources is fundamental in shaping a child's education, as it equips them with the tools needed for lifelong learning and success. Im in. Are you?
Hi everyone, I rarely use this platform for personal requests, but as many of you know, the education sector is often underfunded. It is one of the pillars of our company to continue investing in it. My wife is a teacher, and she needs supplies for her upcoming school year. If you can find it in your heart to help, she (and I) would greatly appreciate it. Here is the link to her project: https://lnkd.in/eDr3Yeih Thank you for your support!
