It is about Them. Facilitation might seem glamorous, as the facilitator appears to be the "centre of attention" throughout the workshop. But here's the truth: Facilitation is not for the limelight hungry. The real essence of facilitation is in making it all about the participants, not about you. If participants leave your workshop feeling they've had engaging conversations, gained unexpected insights, and were so engrossed that time flew by—without ever mentioning how "awesome" the facilitation was—then congratulations!
