𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽? Think about this: you've decided to hold a workshop—what is its objective or expected outcome? Defining this upfront can make all the difference. A workshop requires a significant investment of time—blocking calendars, preparing an agenda, and creating slide content. Before jumping in, it’s worth considering whether your role should be to lead or participate. We often hear the comment “I just want to participate in the workshop rather than run it”. So, how do you decide? 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱? -When there’s a need for you to set the tone and direction -When timing is urgent & it’s faster for you to run than a workshop than to outsource -When your budget is limited 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁? -When you need to free up your time by outsourcing the organisation & outputs -When you need an ‘objective’ 3rd party to keep facilitation neutral -When you need a ‘fresh’ perspective with exercises & approaches to stimulate new ideas #WorkshopTips #FacilitationSkills #LeadershipDevelopment #ProfessionalWorkshops #TeamCollaboration #WorkshopPlanning #LeadershipTips #EffectiveWorkshops #FacilitationTechniques #WorkshopLeadership #ProductivityTips #CollaborationMatters #StrategicFacilitation #TimeManagement #LeadershipRoles

When I first started as a facilitator, my focus was all about getting the process right and sticking to the plan. Over the years, my perspective has shifted. I've come to realize that what truly matters is how the facilitator shows up in the space. Being fully present is the most valuable gift you can offer—both to individuals and groups. While having a solid process is essential, it's your presence that truly makes the difference. What do you think? #facilitator #facilitation #presence

As part of our Outstanding Facilitator Programmes, we invite delegates to consider the “Seven Wonders of Facilitation”. What are the elements that support excellence when facilitating? Firstly we might consider The Physical Level of Facilitation: To be effective, a facilitator must address both the learning and physical needs of participants. This includes ensuring a comfortable temperature, fresh air, proper seating, adequate lighting, refreshments, and accessible comfort-break facilities. It's also crucial to accommodate any additional needs by gathering information about individual requirements and access needs ahead of time. Finally, consider the room setup thoughtfully; skilled facilitators design the layout to support focus during discussions, foster collaboration, and enable coaching conversations. What would you include for the Physical Level of Facilitation? Explore this further through our next cohort of the Outstanding Facilitator Programme: https://lnkd.in/eybUXq_6
