I just witnessed the most compassionate thing. It didn’t come from a human. I watched as a female Cardinal try to teach a smaller bird how to fly. Obviously, I don’t know the backstory of this relationship or what caused the smaller bird to be unable to fly, but this is so beautiful to watch. It ended up leading the little bird into the bushes for safety. I can still see the Cardinals hanging out, potentially to protect it from hawks. Lessons to learn from the Cardinal: ➡️ Be compassionate ➡️ Being bigger doesn’t mean you don’t need to care ➡️ Understand that with your knowledge can make a difference for others ➡️ Seek to understand others ➡️ Understand that your actions can make a difference for anyone ➡️ Teamwork can go a long way I don’t think I’ll forget this beautiful moment of solidarity from different species of birds. #compassion #teamwork #teaching #communication

SPORTMANSHIP AT ITS HIGHEST LEVEL.....

As leaders, there is a lot we can learn from Simone Biles. She is undeniably the leader of the US women’s Olympic gymnastics team. 1) The importance of recognizing and addressing your limits. Many people tout leaning into your strengths. While that is importance for deciding what roles are most suitable for you to succeed (e.g. Simone chose gymnastics over swimming), once you have selected a role, to become truly excellent, we have to recognize and address what is holding us back. Simone took two years off from gymnastics to work on strengthening her mental fitness and it paid off. 2) How to lift others up. She is the GOAT of gymnastics but instead bowed to a competitor. This can only be done from a place of self-confidence AND humility. #leadership #mentalhealth #olympics
