#TNR Back to Basics: To make humane trapping easier, feed community cats out of UNSET traps for one to two weeks prior to the trapping day. This will get the cats comfortable with seeing and walking into traps. Remove the traps after the cats eat so there are no risks of theft, damage, or trapping a cat accidentally! #TNR Tip 🐈 ALWAYS use the proper equipment. Only use humane box traps to safely trap cats. Never use nets, darts, or tranquilizer guns, all of which are dangerous and stressful to cats and kittens. DO NOT pick up cats. For the cat's safety and your own, don’t attempt to pick the cats up or catch them with your hands, a blanket, or the like. Learn more at alleycat.org/TNRGuide

At the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, we often see dogs come into our care for rehoming due to behavioural issues that stem from undiagnosed or unmanaged pain. One of the most common causes of pain we encounter in dogs is hip dysplasia—a condition that is not only prevalent in older dogs but can also affect young ones. Visit our blog to learn more about hip dysplasia, including how to recognize and manage it if you’re considering adopting a dog with this condition: https://lnkd.in/dD4CYXTM
