"Women’s football in Europe has become a sport for the masses, attracting an ever-growing and diverse fan base, and partners that wholeheartedly contribute to its growth. It is our promise to keep investing and collectively lead the game forward, with all European national associations, leagues, clubs, players, fans and partners part of our journey – because women’s football is Unstoppable." - Nadine Kessler, UEFA Managing Director of Women's Football UEFA today unveiled a new women's football strategy that pledges €1 billion in investment to women's football and outlines four long-term goals for 2030, including: ⚽ Making women's football the most-played team sport for women and girls in every European country, through developing football pathways for players, coaches and referees alongside grassroots opportunities ⚽ Making women's football celebrated for its unique values and community, where everyone believes that they can have a place in the game I'm a strong advocate for written strategies and business plans. In fact, in 2021, FIFA's Setting the Pace benchmarking report for women's football found that clubs with a written women's football strategy have a higher average club revenue, higher match attendances, more facilities available to them, and represent a greater proportion of clubs that are profitable or that break even than clubs that do not have a written strategy. Heading in U7-U11 youth grassroots football matches will be phased out over the next three seasons. In 2022, the FA became the first national association to successfully adopt the International Football Association Board (IFAB) trial to remove deliberate heading in grassroots football matches at U12 level and below. The FA will now introduce a new rule to phase out deliberate heading in matches in all affiliated grassroots youth football between U7-U11s over the next three seasons. This includes all leagues, clubs and any affiliated school football matches – starting with U7-U9 level from the 2024-25 season, then increasing to include U10 level from 2025-26, and U11 level from 2026-27. From the start of the 2024/25 season for U7-U9 teams, the FA will be rolling out deliberate header restarts, touchline restarts and removing sanctions in the event of a deliberate header in a match. #football #safetyfirst #youth #grassroots #acfinchley

The development of a grassroots football strategy is in full swing. An important task and obligation of the Russian Football Union, as a participant in the UEFA Grassroots Football Charter. As part of this task, it is necessary not only to systematize different areas of grassroots football, but also to update those areas whose relevant strategic documents are expiring. In total, within the framework of this strategy the following important areas of grassroots football will be covered: - Preschool football - Football in schools - Student football - Adult grassroots football - Football for persons with disabilities Much attention will be paid to the female component, as an integral part of each of these areas. I will share the details with you, but one thing I can say for sure is that by the end of 2024, one of the best grassroots football architectures will be created in Russia, involving all possible areas. And the success of the development of grassroots football is the key to the development of football in the future, not only within the individual country, but also, in general, for the European and International community.

#snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word football normally means the form of football that is the most popular where the word is used. Sports commonly called football include association football (known as soccer in Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United States, and sometimes in Ireland and New Zealand); Australian rules football; Gaelic football; gridiron football (specifically American football, Arena football, or Canadian football); International rules football; rugby league football; and rugby union football.[1] These various forms of football share, to varying degrees, common origins and are known as "football codes".There are a number of references to traditional, ancient, or prehistoric ball games played in many different parts of the w orld.[2][3][4] Contemporary codes of football can be traced back to the codification of these games at English public schools during the 19th century, itself an outgrowth of medieval football.[5][6] The expansion and cultural power of the British Empire allowed these rules of football to spread to areas of British influence outside the directly controlled Empire.[7] By the end of the 19th century, distinct regional codes were already developing: Gaelic football, for example, deliberately incorporated the rules of local traditional football games in order to maintain their heritage.[8] In 1888, the Football League was founded in England, becoming the first of many professional football associations. During the 20th century, several of the various kinds of football grew to become some of the most popular team sports in the world.[9]
