Today, the 77th World Health Assembly kicks off in Geneva, under the theme "Health Assembly is: All for Health, Health for All." mothers2mothers looks forward to engaging with partners on the critical health issues of our time, and to share the 20+ years of ripple effect of m2m female community health workers (CHWs). CHWs are vital for universal health coverage (UHC)! Undeniable evidence shows that CHWs deliver primary health care in a way that improves access, increases equity, and saves lives. That’s why at #WHA77 we’re advocating for professional CHW (#proCHWs) who are salaried, skilled, supervised, and supplied to be the norm worldwide. Self-care and self-management are not just possibilities—they are powerful pathways towards self-healing and recovery! I am so grateful for the interest of MENAP-SCI (Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan - Self-Care Industry) for capturing this on my recent trip to the UAE and for the leadership of Kamal Ubaysi Salma Sameh and all their teams to bring greater awarenesss to this topic! By leveraging the right clinical techniques, collaborating with the right partners and clinicians, and empowering patients with the right knowledge, we can change health trajectories in ways that are: ✅ Cost-Effective for health systems ✅ Empowering for communities ✅ Life-Changing for the individual While early intervention remains critical, even in the management of chronic conditions, we’ve witnessed the profound impact that personalized, clinically-informed care can have on an individual's health journey. Having the evidence based KNOW HOW is critical within a structure personalised approach, most importantly teaching the patient how to do this for themselves! Let’s continue to champion approaches that blend compassion, innovation, and evidence-based care to make meaningful change. 💙 Some of my amazing co-authors and collaborators who continue to inspire the self-healing concept with me must be mentioned too: Ali Mobasheri Jeff Gudin MD Josef Pace Rehaan Shah Mohamed AMESSOU, PhD, MBA Beata Cywińska-Durczak, MD, EMBA Perola Grinberg Plaper Neil Betteridge Gisele Pickering Xue-Jun Song #SelfCare #ChronicDiseaseManagement #Empowerment #EarlyIntervention #HealthcareTransformation #MENAPSCI

50 men in Australia die each day from preventable causes. That's around 18,000 men a year. International Men's Health week celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and takes place from this coming Monday, June 10, to Sunday, June 16, 2024. This year's focus is on men's health checks. One thing we can do to reduce the number of men dying too young is to increase the number of men getting health checks. But what health checks should they get, and when? The Men's Health Checks Toolkit by the Australian Men's Health Forum is designed to help men understand their options, and to encourage them to take action. Men's Health Week is a great opportunity for organisations, workplaces, and communities to focus on some of the different ways we can keep men and boys healthier.
