How important it is to recognize the triumphs and achievements that others, Those of us who work at the airport, receive on a daily basis. But it is notable that our own achievements form my character and temper my soul, to better develop my daily work. That is why having diplomas is important, but it is better to make facts that demonstrate what you have learned in your walk along this path, called life... MO From my book called " Tales of Airport Agent (TOAA)".

THIS! This is why customers love working with SmartSource - because people love working FOR SmartSource. We have some of the lowest turnover in the MSP industry. SmartSource treats it's employees right so they treat their customers right, that's how we roll (you've probably seen our vans rolling too). I've always worked at really young startups, with all of the stress and dysfunction that comes with building an something new while taxiing down a finite runway. I'm so glad to land somewhere with a great culture and warm people. Whether it's Managed Security Services, Value added reseller of top shelf solutions like SentinalOne, Proof point, KnowBe4, or you need on demand device rentals or even short term IT staffing, it's OUR PLEASURE. Don't forget the first in our series of Cybersecurity Webinars: Defend Against Cyber Criminals in 2025. Attend and you're entered to win an iPhone 16. https://lnkd.in/gAn3jpih

Our second day at IFSA was beyond slow— only 3 people visited our stand in 9 hours. But I turned it into one of our most productive days through ‘stalking’. Hear me out: Someone once pointed out to me that "There are only 40 major airlines total: 25 national and 15 international." This meant even 5-10 quality meetings could make the show worthwhile. So I became what I call a "professional stalker": • I spotted key decision-makers having meetings at other stands • Instead of waiting at our booth, I waited around corners with sample bags • When their meetings ended, I made my move Three of these "stalking incidents" led to direct conversations with United and Southwest executives. But they’d have never happened if I stayed put. Trade shows aren't about foot traffic — they're about strategic connections. One conversation with the right decision-maker outweighs 100 casual visitors. Don't sit at your booth waiting for visitors. If they can’t come to your stand, bring it to them.

Why you’re NOT only as good as your last performance Last Saturday, Mark Cavendish was the first rider to get dropped on a challenging first stage of the Tour de France due to the heat. Many feared his early exit, but he managed to finish within the time limit alongside his team members. Today, 4 days later, he won his 35th stage in the Tour making him the sole record holder 👑 Despite the doubts surrounding him after stage 1, Cavendish remained confident in his and the team’s ability: 🗣️ “We knew what we were doing. We had a plan, we stuck to it.” The plan: survive and save energy on hilly stages by riding at his own pace, understanding that difficult stages are part of the process to get chances at victory. 🎯This goal-setting (past successes, experience, motivation, training…) contributed to keep believing in his own ability to win, not panicking when getting dropped early or having a bad day. 💡There are endless factors that can influence your day-to-day performance, so don’t let it influence your belief in your ability. Instead, stick to your plan.

Now Boarding Zone 5 - Silver Medallion members only Or “Why My Delta Silver Medallion Bag Tag is a Trophy and a Joke.” I just got my shiny new Delta Silver Medallion bag tags in the mail yesterday! Entry-level elite status, baby! It’s that sweet spot where you travel enough to feel special, but not enough for the flight attendants to ask your name. Holding these plastic badges of honor, I can't help but laugh. Here I am, proud of my tiny victory, possibly praying for a mistake to be selected when the upgrade list is 150 deep for 3 seats. Yet, I always click the “Upgrade Requested” button for the fun of it. My tags just dangle there saying, "I'm kind of a big deal (Zone 5)... but mostly just to my wife." Maybe that's the point? The journey shouldn’t be about status. It's those redeye flights, a sunrise Monster Ultra in strange airports, and perfect moments when you're sipping a four ounce Coke in 34B, feeling like I’m King of the World (is it cliche if I never saw Titanic?). So here's to the rest of us “almost-elite” travelers, playing the game “Concentration” a hand clapping game on our knees in economy class. We can’t compete with the fancy road warriors sporting a Gag-gle of 20 Diamond Elite bag tags on their Briggs carry-on. We're all just strangers passing in the night, trying to find meaning in the weekly grind, Elite or not. If you see me in the airport, say hello and tell me a story. I have lots of funny stories to share, but I would rather hear yours first. Make sure you catch me before Zone 5 boarding, I don’t want to miss my opportunity. Now, excuse me so I don’t forget to attach this bag tag to my Away carry-on. Some advice - please don’t guard the gate, we Elite aren’t Barbarians at the Gate. It’s inconvenient to sort past you when they announce “Boarding Zone 5.” Last call - Zone 5 Boarding Now… Gate Closes in 10 minutes!
