I recently obtained some DoJ elder fraud training via FOIA. I was pleased to see specific advice that when investigating scams, law enforcement should trace BOTH money AND communications. Very frequently, criminals are more easily traced through communications than finance because communications are more dependent on legitimate providers.
In the example of the excellently written piece below, Telegram user 626-884-6173 (slide 4) may be a T-Mobile number. If so, and if not ported, it may be a prepaid subscriber. Law enforcement can obtain the location of this subscriber through a search warrant, 2703(d) order (if less than 10 days of data are requested), or 3117 order.
Though law enforcement should first obtain the date the Telegram account was last verified via SMS. If the last verified date cannot be obtained, law enforcement should be mindful of the possibility that a wireless number may have been canceled and recycled to another user after the last SMS verification but before the Telegram (or, for that matter, WhatsApp) account was last used.
Law enforcement should also be aware that criminals can (and not infrequently do) send Telegram or WhatsApp registration messages to random, legitimate wireless subscribers and then social engineer the PIN code from the wireless number user.

What do members of Congress plan to do with seniors and the disabled if Social Security is cut? Seniors rarely can work. Social Security is what pays for the nursing homes they often have to live in and it doesn’t even cover the decent ones most of the time!
Seniors and the disabled rely on Medicare, which only pays 80%Of their medical bills, leaving the elderly to have to foot the last 20%. Considering the high rate of medical issues in the aging and disabled populations, this can rack up to astronomical amounts, especially if they require hospitalization. Yes, supplementary insurance is available, but how will seniors be expected to pay for regular Medicare, with supplementary insurance on top of it without Social Security?
Not everyone is able to make more than paying their bills. Many have toiled at low wage jobs most of their lives barely getting by and can’t save for retirement. And, you know what? THEY PAID INTO SOCIAL SECURITY ALL THEIR LIVES EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD BARELY GET BY!!!
It’s not a handout! Social Security was a LOAN from taxpayers that Congress needs to keep paying back!
It’s ludicrous to abolish Social Security!
