Just back from London after attending the SuperReturn Private Credit event. After two days of interesting panels , meetings and networking, here are the takeaways of the conference: - The trend in banks' retrenchment is visible and will accelerate - Private credit managers capability to innovate is key for the asset class - Hot topics in credit: secondaries, asset based, fund financing - LPs with mature PD portfolios will need to diversify away from corporate direct lending into strategies with more protected downside and less correlation to large direct lending strategies. - Other trends in sight: banks partnering up with private credit funds. - Environment still very positive, but defaults will start rising if rates stay high for longer #superreturn #privatecredit #macro #assetbased #realestatedebt #leasing #tradefinance
