We wouldn't be celebrating 🌎 #EarthDay 2024 if it weren't for a robust team that includes environmental engineers at each plant that is committed to energy reduction. Since 2010, Waupaca Foundry has reduced energy intensity by 21%. In fact, foundries are energy-intensive operations, but we're not letting that detract from #decarbonization efforts. In 2024 alone, we aim to: ✔️ Reduce energy intensity by 5%. ✔️ Reduce the cumulative electrical consumption carbon footprint by 30%. As the only metalcaster participating in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management #BetterClimateChallenge, together with allies and partners, we will reduce GHG emissions in the U.S. by 50%> over the next 10 years.
