Halloween, and subsequently trick-or-treating, are only a few weeks away! If your community doesn’t have a policy for neighborhood trick-or-treating, here are some great tips from Community Associations Institute to ensure everyone has a safe Halloween.

This bank holiday has mainly been about destroying my garden! We’ve done the work on the extension which is all fandabidozy and we are super happy. So, as we are gluttons for punishment, we decided to do the garden too instead of waiting until next year. We have to clear it because next weekend the diggers are in to level it and lay the hardcore, then some walls and rendering before it’s laid over next few weeks. Today: - 10 conifers that were wild were tamed (I am cut to ribbons!) - 3 sheds emptied and demolished (I know: who needs 3!) - 47 tins of paint ready to be skipped (Why the heck did we keep so many partially full ones? Anyone else?!) - A whole heap of stuff given away/tipped/taken to parents’ garage for storage (That’s why I live nearby - and for childcare too!) Oh, and I bought a chainsaw. What have I learned? - Clearing out is therapeutic - Doing work outside is better than doing it inside - I have to LEARN to love the process not just the result - My best ideas come when I’m not trying to think of them - Burning shit is awesome #DailyStoic #reflections #bankholiday
